Josh and I stopped by two spots today, the one from our last post and also an old site from the summer.. My favorite find of the day is definitely the early silver cuff button. :hello2: At first I was thinking roman numeral "II", but now it's pretty clear there is a line connecting the two columns "H" Oh well, probably the owner's initial. Also ended up with a clipped quarter of a 2 reale pistareen. I also heard from Josh today that a few people think that we buy our finds and post them :D at least we started out with a good laugh from that... (look up the military enlisted paycharts for E-5's) I wish I could buy nice relics :laughing7: Hope y'all are gettin out for some fall relic hunting.. Jeff

Here's the dirty finds

I'll start with this unknown :dontknow: (a lot of civil war stuff has come from here)

Pretty sure this is the end of a brass, silver-plated spoon (initals "JH")

A large lead seal (no idea what it says.. crud doesn't wanna come off)

1/4 piece of early 1700's 2 reale & silver cufflink "H"

and the group (few blank buttons, musketballs, few nails, tongue to a shoe buckle, etc)

Nice bit of silver.

Very cool unknown piece. Hope someone can Id it for you, I'm curious.

Congrats!

Excellent early silver finds - clearly you have a very promising site there ! Argentium.

Those are some phenomenal finds. That unknown piece is very interesting and will probably even outshine the cut Spanish...and that's no easy task. Congrats on the finds!

Jeff, I love the solid silver cufflink and, of course, the cut silver! :headbang: You guys have been doing some very special things this year in VA!

Thank you for the comments gentlemen... I don't dig much that Josh can't I.D. and this one got him ???

i don't see your hot streak fizzling anytime soon! very nice DUG finds!

Usually, you guys have overlay sites with several decades of relics but this looks strictly pre Pre CW. Very nice. Love the old cufflink and silver. You guys COULD NOT AFFORD the finds you have made this year. Josh isn't Donald Trump's nephew is he-LOL? WTG guys, Quindy.

Well Jeff I can vouch for some of the awesome finds! I was there for the first HMA button! That unknown piece is interesting looking for sure but I love the cuff link. nice hunt

Thanks again everyone... That theory of buying and posting was pretty damn funny. Always nay-sayers down every road in life. :tongue3:

Love the cufflink and the cut piece Jeff!

Spanish crown maybe?

I doubt it Romeo, this was a last minute stop find at a spot where we pulled 30-40 CW buttons this summer.. Nothing very early came from there... and very very little post war. Now that I think about it, this was about 5 feet from where I dug a US box plate

and Thank you Steve

Don't I WISH :laughing7: :laughing7: We had a good time today and you had the day saver with the Spanish and I had the day STINKER with the Barber Dime :( ;D  :D
