Nice halfdollar find

I work at a bank and ordered $1000 of halves. Went through the first half and found these guys. Four 40%, three proofs, a gold tinted mint and a gold plated 1976. I know what the 40% ones are but how about the others. Any info would help.

The 2003, 2004, and 2007 are 'S' mint mark proofs which are 40% silver.

The gold tinted/plated coins are worth $0.50 each.....

Yea I think you got that wrong. Just cause it says s on it doesn't mean it's silver. I could be wrong though

I am pretty sure that the Proof Kennedy Half Dollars made at the San Francisco Mint for those years were either 90% Silver or Copper-Nickel Clad and not 40% Silver-Clad. While the O.P's Proof Kennedy Half Dollar finds appear to be Silver from the pic, weighing them would be definitive. The Silver Half Dollars normal weight is 12.50 grams versus the 11.34 grams for a Copper-Nickel Clad.

Your s proofs are clad if they look like clad on the edge. You can really tell if they are silver.

I stand corrected on the content of the 2003S, 2004S, and 2007S proof half dollars. Actual silver content would be 90% as clarified by Huntsman.

But, then you mention the rim being off. Did some more searching and actually found those dates from San Francisco Mint were also issued in clad = DRATS!!!

Yeah, the Proof Half Dollars are very confusing due to the different runs of 90% Silver, 40% Silver-Clad and Copper-Clad issues not to mention the Special issues such as the 1976-S Bi-Centennial issue and then throw in some of the San Francisco Mint SMS issues that look like Proofs. It makes my' head hurt so much, that I don't want to even get into the issues of the Dime, Quarter and Ike Dollar Proofs! LOL!!

I would likely keep them all. Years ago, we threw the 40% back, "dirty". Nowadays, we keep everything.

Not able to say what bank. I ordered from the bank and location I work at and I'll dump them at a different location.
