For the last three hunts I must have dug at least 50 clad nickels trying to find gold, today I only found three but old ones two dateless buffs and a nice 1896 V also got a flat button the other button could be from the 1930's 40's.. That's a pile of nickels! Congrats on the buffalos and the V. Well done.

Wow, that's a pile of nickels. Lol

My hunts for gold are like that too except my pile is pull tabs.

Congrats on the two buffs. and the V-nickle is in Great shape!!

Nice line up on the Nickel's. You killed the 5 cent'ers

One little note, big gold rings can come in higher then regular gold rings, and nickel's .. and by big gold I would say from about 20grams and up...I found a couple 13grams this year that I swore were sinkers...

Hello Park Pirate,

Congratulations on the coin finds! I was in your area last Thursday, should have sent you a PM and possibly had a hunt.

Regards,

Doc

That's a lot of potential gold targets that you pulled out of their dirt nap

I know how that goes. I found over 120 nickels last year in one 10 yard square area. None as old as yours. Nice finds.

nothing wrong with a couple buffs and a nice V, funny how the older nickel has a date and the weird positioning of the date on the buffs usually wears the dates off

The date is the highest point on the coin, so it will be the first to be worn...
