Fred Nolan walked past the five boulders of Nolan's Cross almost every day for years without knowing their significance. Once uncovered, he realized they formed a large "X" marks the spot and he dug at the center to find a 6th stone; the head stone, but he found no treasure.

Every video ive seen regarding Nolan's Cross, approach the cross as one peice of a bigger puzzle. One expert superimposed the tree of life on top to identify potential treasure sites. Other researchers drew lines from points on the cross to other markers on the island looking for intersectng/triangulation points.

What if Nolan's Cross is not a peice of a larger puzzle?
What if all the clues you need are right there but hidden.

In the attached PDF, i contend that Nolan's Cross was constructed using sacred geometry but the location of one boulder (Cone A) was intentionally altered to prevent finding the true treasure location.
Therefore, all you have to do is use the other boulders of Nolan's Cross to calculate the true location of Cone A and you know where to dig.

All the clues are there. No map is needed, nothing is written down. All you need are the boulder locations, the golden ratio (1.618) and know how to multiple.

Simple but Elegant!

In the attached pic, the RED "X"shows the correct location of Cone A using sacred geometry. The location of 5 other boulders do not change because thay already adhere to the golden ratio.

Could your AI have been unduly influenced by what's already been written about Nolan's Cross with respect to Sacred Geometry, particularly the work of Brian Pharaoh? Why would your AI include Cone D? Is this really needed in order to form a straightforward cross?

I get it that 720 x phi = 1165 feet, but the stem is reported as being 429 + 293 = 722 feet not 720 feet as presented by Brian Pharaoh and others. And I can't quite figure out where the 144 feet came from unless it's from Brian Pharaoh's work, and is half of his 288 feet.

There are already some other suggestions that the Cross extends beyond Cone A, so we're actually presented with a number of alternatives derived from Sacred Geometry - now including yours. Is there any particular facet of your proposed solution that might favour it above the others?

There are at least two sets of numbers/dimensions for Nolan's cross. Some of the distances vary because Fred Nolan moved the face stone to drill below it and is reported to now be off by 2ft.
As mentioned in another thread, some of the differences could be due to accumulated errors in the measurements over a long distance through wooded areas.
Also the boulders are very large and so where you measure from could vary.
Like so many things on oak island, its hard for me to determine which is correct and the reasons behind the differences.

You are correct. Cone D is not needed for sacred geometry and could have another meaning/purpose.
When the golden ratio is applied to the upper part of the cross, an additional 301ft needs to be added the existing 144ft. It could be the 293ft ftom Cone D needs to be added to the 144ft (437ft) but then it no longer sacred geometry since its 8ft short. According to Google AI , even the dimension of 437ft would be considered sacred geometry.

I view Nolans cross as a confirmation that the returning party have landed on the correct island. For this purpose 100% accuracy isn't necessary.
So when the party arrives in Jordrey Cove, they locate the cross member boulders then use the 720ft dimension to locate the sacred geometry Cone A (SG Cone A). For this purpose the 720ft cross member measurement must be accurate since its used to calculate the location of SG Cone A: 445ft.
All the others...not so much. They only have to convey that sacred geometry was used indicating the 144ft is too short.

I am not aware of any other theories of extending the cross beyond Cone A but my theory results in a very specific location to dig....SG Cone A.

I asked google AI if 722 is used instead of instead of 720, would it still be sacred geometry...

Yes, these proportions can absolutely be considered sacred geometry because they reflect the Golden Ratio and mathematical harmony.

I also asked if 437 was used instead of 445, would still be considered sacred geometry...

Yes, these dimensions strongly embody sacred geometry because they closely align with the Golden Ratio (Phi, denoted as \(\phi \approx 1.618\)), which is a foundational principle of mathematical harmony. [1, 2]

It took some digging but... if you divide the height by the width of a cross and the result is between 1.5 an 1.7 (i.e., golden ratio +/-5%) then it is considered sacred geometry.
Therefore,
The current cone A location
(722+144)/720=1.2
not sacred geometry

SG calculated cone A
(722+445)/720=1.62
Yes. sacred geometry

Adding 293 to 144
(722+144+293+)/720=1.61
Yes. sacred geometry

I want to thank GJB for challenging my Nolan's Cross theory because it has helped me refine my thoughts, address some holes which have only strengthened my position.

I've updated my Nolan's Cross PDF with several improvements.

Noaln admitted to moving stones to make the cross. He was attempting to compete with Dan Blankenship in promoting fiction.

How can anyone beleive in something that Nolan admitted he created by moving stones into a formation?
I agree completely.
I'm just putting forth a theory that makes a lot more sense than the nonsense presented by experts on COOI.

I can see Rick and Marty using the theory as filler in the show without traveling across the Atlantic.

I can see the filler now...
1. They get sacred geometry expert to present the theory and ties it to the carved stone cross.
Rick will temple his fingers.
2. Gary and Jack will metal detect the are and find a "ook" clearly used to lower treasure.
3. Alex will use GPR and identify a void which has to be a treasure vault.
4 Billy.will dig a deep hole with his backhoe.
5. Thoughly discredited Dr. Ian Spooner will look at the digs and say "I've haven't seen this before "
6. Rick will look at wood samples and say "we need to get these carbon dated"
7. Nothing is ever said about it again.

Weststarbooks mentioned the constellation Cygnus shown below.

I then looked at Nolan's Cross
1000034953.webp

Finally, i superimposed Nolan's Cross on top of Cygnus

Nolan's Cross is a reasonable representation of Cygnus with one exception...Cone A is way off.

This supports my theory that Cone A should be further above the cross member of Nolan's Cross.

I calculated that Cone A should be 320ft further up the vertical to achieve a 94% match with Cygnus placing it 475ft above the horizontal cross member.

I think this is quite plausible because of Cone D located in the lower vertcal of Nolan's Cross...there is no need for it when using sacred geometry because you can create the vertcal with Cones A and C.
HOWEVER, Cygnus has a star located in about the same location as Cone D.

At 475ft it is no longer sacred geometry so the calculations are a little trickier.

I just figured it out!

1. All the lengths used in Nolan's Cross are sacred geometry numbers.
2. The lower portion of Nolan's Cross (720ft) also adheres to the golden ratio (1.1618).
3. However, the upper portion of Nolan's Cross (144ft) does not adhere to the golden ratio.

In order for the upper portion of Nolan's Cross to be a sacred number and to adhere to the golden ratio one must add 288ft to the 144ft just as 288ft was added to the 432ft (i.e., sacred number).

This means the upper portion of Nolan's Cross should be 432ft.

I predict if you dig at 432ft above the cross member you will find a rock!

I continue to be amazed at how close Nolan's Cross aligns with Cygnus so i ran some numbers.

Here is a comparison between NC and the scaled down Cygnus lengths...
You will need the attached picture of Cygnus to understand the names star names.

NC - Cone C to Face Stone: 360ft
Cygnus - Deneb to Sadr: 307ft
Deviation: 14.7%

NC - Cone B to Face Stone: 360ft
Cygnus - Eta Cygni to Sadr:364ft
Deviation: 1.1%

NC - Cone E to Face Stone: 720ft
Cygnus - Eta Cygni to Sadr: 734ft
Deviation: 1.9%

NC - Cone A to Face Stone: 144ft
Cygnus - Fawaris to Sadr: 420ft
Deviation: 97.8%

However, if you calculate the location of Cone A using the golden ratio...
NC - Cone A to Face Stone: 432ft
Cygnus - Fawaris to Sadr: 420ft
Deviation: 2.8%

With the exception of Cone A, i would have to conclude Nolan's Cross was intentionally aligned to Cygnus.

Here is an interesting fact...
If you look at the picture there is a star, Albirio. Using the same scaling from previous post, Albirio is 812ft from Sadr

When you extend a line from the Face Stone (Sadr) through Cone B for a total distance of 812 feet (Albiro), the line brings you directly to the center of the island's primary treasure-hunting zone—specifically intersecting the Garden Shaft

So appears the Garden Shaft is located where Albirio would be.
