So I ask if any halves are available.

she says, "I only have 2 halves and this big dollar coin thing, she holds it up"

Me: (I immediately recognize it) Why not, I'll take the 3 of them, trying to play it cool. I pay at once, don't wait, i wanted the thing in my hand. Then i ask. Anyone else have any? Another Peace turns up.

Needless to say, this is the best score from a teller tray or in general for that matter.

40 in halves = 2 68
2 in dollars = 2 peace 22, 23

Thanks all, I pick up all the ikes i can in hope of one of these hanging around...never had any luck, and then to have it hanging out in the teller tray. I'm not old but "kids" these days...wow. Or am i old referring to " 'kids' these days"

and then to add to a great day i just met someone on CL. Selling coins. He's like. "i'm selling them at 2008 prices" I'm like, whatever. I meet him. I picked up a bunch of morgans at 20 bucks, dimes were .50, kennedy halves were a buck, regardless of date (90's or 40s) and quarters were 2.00. What a good day. That my friends, is truly a lucky draw.

Great score!! I had a teller give me a couple of 90s the other day, (walkers) because nobody wanted them. You just never know whats going to come up.

lol, you have no idea, but far be it from me to question someone "telling" me the way it is...when everything else was so cheap and they took the time to write the "going rate" on the item...i just said "ok, ok, how much is this one, nothings on it, ok; lets add that one to" I was afraid to argue and have a price change on the halves or on the quarters...I just paid the dude and told him I may be back.

i just got an email from another CL person.......they'll sell me all their morgan and peace dollars at 23.00 per......this is good news since many of the local shops are paying 21-23 per... Seems like things are looking up. I'll keep you all posted.

Hate to tell you this, but that Peace Dollar has been cleaned. Look at the fields. Not that it is a great find mind you, but the numismatic value is nill.

Hate to tell you this, but that Peace Dollar has been cleaned. Look at the fields. Not that it is a great find mind you, but the numismatic value is nill.

yeah i has, in a serious way, but i think thats why i got it, it color is very "ike like" had it been dirty and such, the way we see morgans and peace it may have gotten scooped up. I just think of all the hands that must've touched it just to get it to the teller tray.

lol, yeah i guess but who cares, it was at a bank they ran me 1.00 ea. whatever, i'll pay a buck for a fake just to have one.

It doesn't matter one bit that it was polished clean. If there is no numi, which there often isn't then it doesn't matter. Even polished peace and morgans round here the dealer pays well and sells them for 27.00 at a min. 27.00!! Ridiculous to me but it is what it is. Bought some peace this am at 22.00 per from CL.
