Thank you all for the comments. Yes, this was a great day. It was also found on my family gold rush property so there are hopefully many more things to find aside from square nails. Persistence pays off.

That's awesome. I've found some 1800 coins but not a seated, still looking. Congrats...

Mikes right, that’s a great find no matter WHO you are or where you’re from or how long you’ve been at it. Most people’s first 1800s coin winds up being an Indian...so you made the grade in style there Duke! You certainly have a machine with the technology to sort a lot of that garbage from the good. And where there’s one,at least in my experience,it’s not alone.

I've been in the game 12 years and have never found a Seated Liberty coin of any variety - your dime would have been a massive find to me !

Thank you all so much. So many nails and trash from the period but never a coin from it. I have four more days on the property so you can imagine I will be looking for more! I damn there let a tear loose I was so happy, i figured these may have been a but more prominent than I assumed.

No, that's a big deal! A nice coin, a memorable coin, silver, my son was born 100 years after that coin was minted and I bet you were excited when you realized what you have! It's a big deal and thank you for sharing it with the rest of it.........63bkpkr

I think that is a big deal man. I got extremely lucky finding one seated the first couple months with my deus and have been chasing that dragon for almost 2 years now. Congrats on a killer find and hope you find another real soon. Good luck!

I'd probably be dancing around my plug if one of those popped out.
