After four plus years in the hobby, I finally found my first 1800s coin. Thank you all very much for the advice and mentorship. I know this isn't a big deal for most of you but for me this is an incredibly happy day.

A seated coin of any denomination is BIG, a seated coin with a Carson City mint mark is BIGGER!!
Congratulations

Wonderful find! I still vividly remember the feeling, place and time I found my one and only seated dime in AU condition. All the previous Rosie's, Mercuries and Barbers found were 6-9 inches deep. The seated dime for no apparent reason was only a couple of inches deep and almost didn't dig it as I thought 'clad dime'. I even remember the weather on that day over a decade ago :laughing7: The feeling of unearthing an old coin just never goes away.

That is very nice. I see it is a cc as well. That makes it extra sweet seat

Congratulations on one nice find.:icon_thumright:

Very nice find, Congrats!!!

Big for me too nice find

Your first seated dime is very nice.I still remember where I found mine.

I don’t even want to say how long it took me to find my first and only seated coin and it took a lot longer than you:laughing7: congratulations! :notworthy:

For most of us, a seated dime is a GREAT find! Congratulations on breaking the 19th century mark. I'm sure there are more inn your future.

nice! that cc mint mark makes it cooler

Put that beauty in a nice case I found a 1876 quarter on a hill slope half inch deep Well done

It'll be big for me if I ever find one. Congrats.

Congratualtions on the seated! :icon_thumleft:

Ooooo nice seated! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: I'm still looking for my first!

Very nice dime.
Your in an area where it is highly possible that you may swing your coil over a gold coin.
Remember that if you are using discrimination (I’d throw down some gold to test).

Also remember to give your signals a wide berth when digging them. Hate to ruin a nice coin.

You also just might find a large nugget.

Congratulations!

Nicely done, and all the best,

Lanny

I got my first detector when i was 13. I am 56 now and still no seated! Its a real big deal and the CC makes it even that much more incredible! Congratulations :notworthy:

Gahhhh. I really cannot believe how special this is. Thank you all very much, just because I found a seated, please dont let the advice stop coming.

I do really want to take a moment to thank you folks for keeping persistent. I'm beside myself still. I did a grid today, only could old wagon parts on a wagon trail but tomorrow I will for sure be hitting the foot path that follows the wagon trail. Any advice is welcome.
