I've already posted the question on the rock/mineral forum but thought I'd share a strange eyeball find today.

I was just looking out my window and about 50 feet away, down on the ground, this really strange reflection came back. I tried to ignore it, but the sun just insisted. So, I went down and finally pinned down it's location. Not impressed? Look how small.

No, not the dime. ;)

I won't go into details too much here as it would be a double post. But, I believe it will prove interesting to anyone who likes a mystery.

Here's the link to the other post, it has a lot more detail.

Happy Hunting & keep your eyes open!

I posted my thoughts on the other thread, but here they are again.

Looks like anthracite or silicon. Coal, for some reason, often comes up metallic on my AT Pro. Silicon is a metalloid, which means it has metallic properties but is not quite fully a "metal" element. Was it magnetic?

EDIT: Anthracite would make more sense, bc it read positive on your diamond tester. Diamonds are crystalline carbon formed under extreme volcanic pressure. Pyrite, for this very reason, would not, because pyrite is an iron compound.

Only one problem I think I see. It is bright yellow! Can anthracite be yellow? Maybe some dinosaur wet there? LOL

Was it magnetic?

I missed this question. No it's not magnetic.
Also, I updated the other post with a couple more pics.
Here's one of them.

Aha!!! I figured out my own boo boo!!!

It DOES leave a streak!! AND, consistent with Iron Pyrite!

The thing I forgot was that the streak would be dark and my testing kit's tile was black!!! LOL

I used an old white tile and there it was a clean, dark streak.

Sorry about the confusion and thanks for the help!!
