Well its been a long while since I have posted due to the farm fields and woods unhuntable up until the last few weeks. But Im back in the swing of things and have had a very good last few outings. The best outing was today with mom and NJ Ben. Hit up our field of dreams that still has Soy in it so we were stuck (luckily) with some fields we really hadn't given a chance. Ben did very well today and Ill let him share his story! Concentrated on an area where Ben had found his goodies and pulled 1 large cent, a toasted copper and this BEAUTIFUL 1786 NJ Copper. Thought I would never find one in good shape! Pulled buttons, indians, spoons, forks, you name it this spot was on fire. The last bunch of pics were from a few previous outtings. Barber quarter, seated dime, George II copper, Nice Saddle Shield etc. Here are the pics. Hope Don can tell me the great news on my ULTRA rare NJ:tongue3: Thanks all.

Awesome finds! Congrats on the NJ copper! Still on my want list!

Well done and think what might still be out there.

After looking at it Im pretty sure its a Maris 18-M Very Common. But with tons of varieties I may be wrong.

Amazing coins!

WTG Jim, a nice as you said Maris 18-m, if any consolation to finding a very common variety, let it be said it is in very nice shape! Also it is a late die state, appears to have the known "Bridle" die crack running from nose to chest.

Don

That's quite a haul Jim. Congrats on your beautiful copper. They don't get much better than that.

im still a newbie at this but what made you detect this particular field? I cant believe all the stuff you found. Thats awesome! Just wondering what the history was to draw you to it!

Great Haul there!!

WTG! Great "Jersey"!. Congrats....................Hogge

That's some great finds! The Coppers are Awesome! And the silver is nice too! Way To Go! :icon_thumright:

I've yet to find a NJ so I'd be glad to take a common one!

Your George II is actually a William III.

Got a quick question and a congrats!!!! The question is I see your using the T2 do u have any problems with the screen going blank and u have to reset the machine?

Absolutely awesome finds.....Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Jim, what can I say? Today will be a day I won't soon forget. Thanks a million for the opportunity to dig my best coins ever and have a blast with you and your mom!

Thanks all! Whitey got a tip from the farmer a while back to houses being back there. But this spot was dumb luck. IF Ben didnt wander over I probably wouldn't have thought about going way over there. Sparky my screen never went blank and I dont have to reset. I know some have problems with the battery door not keeping the batteries tight and turning your machine off. IP thank you for the ID on the WilliamIII! Makes 2 coppers from the 1600's now.

Wow. Just wow! Beautiful NJ copper. You guys make me want to move back to NJ haha.
