Hello All!

This is my first post in this forum and I plan to show a few more that I've stumbled upon.

I found this piece while metal detecting the edge of a pond runout that had been dug out to increase depth. I've found a few arrowheads in my time but nothing like this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think that it was probably used as a small knife instead of arrowhead.

I figured it was piece that was 'close enough' for someone improve on or make the best of it. Anyone believe it's just a random piece not made by man?

Any chance of viewing your related specimens crj1968?

What you see there lairmo are 2 of my 4 ".57" cavity marked Enfields with the boxwood plugs in perfect intact condition. The roundball is a typical 69Cal. All found at a pond edge where the plugs were able to stay moist. After a year or so in small ziplocs, the plugs did dry enough to fall out and allow me to inspect the cavities. Not a spot of dirt or oxidization in the cavity. Shiny clean lead as if they were manufactured yesterday.

It’s a utilized flake with a nice little burin or graver on one end.

something tells me a lot of neat little artifacts get overlooked.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum!!

I was just looking on What's New , & saw your post, it def, look's worked & had some possible use.

I'm no expert ,I don't come across many Points ; heck any that look like yr Common point , just worked pieces of Quartz mostly. & a Few pottery pieces.

I only got 2 Enfield's With plugs still intact in all my years. Would be 3 but I nailed one with my shovel & put a Nice Shiny Quarter inch mark down the whole side of my last ,I had to re-bury it as it hurt too much.
Back to Native American I plan on working harder this Spring & Summer to find my 1st 'For sure' Point.

I do say that most years tho until it get's Hot with mucho Bug's.
Thanks for posting.

Here's a better pic of the triangle oddity...along with a quartz piece with a kind of ground down beveled edge.
