Haha, I was hoping someone might recognize the symbols. I will try and get some better photos. I don't know what metal it is. I'll get back with more info also.

Japan, excellent, half of the riddle identified. Also, it is the size of a quarter, as I said vdi on equinox is 22. I am working on getting a better picture of viking/samuri side.
