Well I went to a park that I did not realize had two tot lots until my third hunt there...Far end of park "L" shaped so did not see it. Well surprise...surprise...when I got there this morning they had added 4.5 inches of wood chip...yes exactly! :) So I went with a modified coin/jewelry program and made it as deep as I could...Well I only got 10 coins which were 4.5 inches down...under the new wood chip but still shiny. After leaving the woodchip disgusted... >:( I decided to hunt a worn path by a small tree...4.5 inches down by the tree I found a worn 1903-o Barber dime...later I decided to push it and hunt in that crushed white rock...no fun but spoke with a guy who said he has seen 2 guys hitting the park...got a 50-d wheatie out of the crushed rock...even the Lesche had a little trouble digging in that crap! Coin total way off...only 51 coins.... Finally up to 10 silver coins for the year...did have the larger stock coil on today...

Sweet Barber dime, that was a suprise i bet.

If, at the end of the year, you are short of 10,000, that Barber will be equal to the difference!

It was a big surprise...but it was also a surprise that the parks around here have started adding the woodchip...they do it in spring and fall...makes it tough on the quick clad recoveries... thanks guys! :)

Look at it this way.... that Barber dime is worth digging up 100 pennies!

Saved you alot of digging!

Those are always fun to find.

Only my second barber this year...but I will gladly take it! :)

Thanks I probably would be a lot happier if I was past 10,000 coins want to get that out of the way and drop counter... :)

Thanks I will be at 10,000 before month is over...but days like today do not help the totals to much.... But I knew I was due...glad the Barber came along... :)

Bud, do you dig "rubbish" signals? (stated like a gentleman from the UK) I bet the older coins are in these parks, but they may not read decently.

Honesty Kirk I believe they are there in some of them too...Today one of the targets a clad dime was found on a second signal 5.0 down after getting a signal above it at 2.0 which read as a cent and was a bottle top......these parks are tough tons of clad/trash ...like a surgeon I continue to remove the top layer.... ;D

barbers dime is allways a nice find.

Nice barber those are always a treat. Sorry to see your coin total so low but its a tradeoff you can go for the clad or you can go for the old stuff. Maybe after you hit 10,000 you can spend the rest of the year tracking down the old stuff,Hh...Shoot

That's a nice Barber Greg---A barber day is a very good day--Congrats

Thanks that would be nice...actually it was even worse...had only 4 silvers into the start of August...so I have actually picked it up! :D
