OK guys it’s been a while but I’m perplexed What is a Slidell tool for I found it in an Indian Shellmound where I have found in the end tomahawks as well as 1812 buttons and coins I know it’s not that old because of the notch I don’t know does anybody know?
That's a glass cutter,. It is bent and missing the two rowels, but that's what it is. Not sure how old, but you had a window maker or worker, perhaps even an artist there!

As someone above said bike spoke adjusting tool maybe but it also looks to be a bent glass cutter tool.
You gotta remember this was in the shell mound everything I found there has been from the War of 1812 on down

History has a tendency to present itself with items that get mixed in as the years go by. You could very well be correct with your enology but so could I. Just keep on diggin and really deep is all those prehistoric bones from those critters that had the deed to that property at the beginning.:dontknow:
It’s weird everybody wants to go deep and when you’re working in brick shells oyster shells roots it’s hard I have dug one big hole and by the time I filled it in I just jump back in the truck and drove 50 miles back home I was done lol

It looks to me a wood cook stove thingy used to lift the plates/element up to the place you stuff wood into. Sorry I don't know the names.

Maybe it was left behind by a archaeologists they went through a lot but I’ve proven they missed a lot to
