Went this afternoon to my favorite abandoned cart path. Found this coin down about 2".
I'm also finding old and crusty white round lead balls. I'm on to an old Spanish Mexican encampment I hope. Is this coin rare? It's my best find to date! I'm hooked for sure for another season.

Thanks.

Nice find.

I was seeing a patient the other day in Home Health and he started talking about coins. He walked into his bedroom and came out with 20 of these his father had recovered from a wreck. His father is a professional treasure recoverer! Blew my mind. They were all in perfect condition.

My heart skipped a few beats, let me tell ya.....

Awesome find.

Very cool coin! Man ,I would love to find one . I have found plenty of musket balls and they are a fantastic way to judge a site. Looks like you will have some more amazing finds come from that spot!

That is one beautiful coin...and congrats on making the banner. That one is definitely on my wish list for this season.

Hey Radarwill, great find man and a big congrats on making the banner, you deserve it!!! Your coin is actually not a Mexican reale but a Spanish reale I thought you might like to see an actual Mexican reale, which were minted later than the Spanish reales in Mexico.I've included pics of a Mexican one reale and two reale that I found a few years back, just so you could see the difference.Congrats again & WTG, Bootstrap :icon_pirat:

This One REAL was minted in Mexico City MEXICO ::) The vast majority of the Spanish Silver was minted in the New World and of that most were minted in Mexico City. Mint mark M with a small o above it is Mexico City mint.

sweet coin if it dosent make the banner I will eat my hat

Good job Don! I stand corrected. You are of course one of the more knowledgable coin gurus on here and I should have checked my facts first instead of relating what I had been told.Still quite a big difference though.
