My son and I were hunting a wooded area and found 11 LC and 3 Spanish reals. I had one hole that produced two liberty cap LC, 1793 @179?, one draped bust and 1734 1/2 real. I ended up with three more draped bust LC and a 1781 1/2 real. My son ended up with five draped bust LC and a 1782 1 real, all of the LC are in the 1790s

Hope your not too green to make it, cause that is definitely Banner material.

Wow! that is awesome and congrats.
I would love to know more on the site itself. Without giving away your location, tell us why you were out in this particular part of the woods. was it near an old homesite, stagecoach route, etc? Aside from the finds themselves, I like the story behind it.
Great finds and congrats again.

Welcome coinz :hello2: that is a great day and father and son team is cool . :icon_scratch: Usually King George travels with those reales .. must be still hiding with the buttons .. get back out there and get some more .. 8) HH

That looks like the hunt of a lifetime! :icon_thumright: :hello2: Great looking coins! I'd be digging every signal at that site, and soon if it is about to be altered!

Absolutely amazing!!! Congrats!!

I believe both of the Lib. Caps are 1795. Neither has the Head of 1793, as far as I can guess from the photos. A 1793 Liberty Cap would be a very high dollar find, but it's got a different head style. It would also be good to see the reverses of the 1798 Draped Bust coins so we can tell if you've got any rare Sheldon varieties. Great finds!

I will try to get this one to come up.

what a fantastic hunt.
look forward to seeing some more posts from this site!

Looks like the last 2 photos of Liberty Cap Cents are 1796, at least to me. According to the PCGS partial population report, 71 1796 Liberty Caps have been submitted to date, including 10 in AG3; 12 in G4; 12 in VG8; 12 in F12; 13 in VF30; 8 in XF40; 4 in AU55. My 1796 is a much more common Draped Bust variety. Calling it AG3 might be generous.

Amazing.... :icon_thumleft: Banner from me.

Incredible hunt!!! :headbang: :headbang: :notworthy: I'd be smiling for days after a score like that, congrats on a fantastic coin haul!

Now go back and pound that place to dust!
