My son and I were hunting a wooded area and found 11 LC and 3 Spanish reals. I had one hole that produced two liberty cap LC, 1793 @179?, one draped bust and 1734 1/2 real. I ended up with three more draped bust LC and a 1781 1/2 real. My son ended up with five draped bust LC and a 1782 1 real, all of the LC are in the 1790s

What a awesome score !

Mindblowing ! Give us more of the story . That was a banner hunt. :coffee2:

We did not find any relics, and only a half dozen pieces of trash, that is nice to have most signals be a old coin. Looks like they are getting ready to build in the area,

Holy crap! Wha???? :o :o :o

It don't get much better then that , better get back there and pound it some more :icon_thumleft:

Man, you did REALLY good. I need a day like that. Tennessee digger

Unbefreakinlievable ! A 1700's coin spill ? That was a lot of money back then ! Argentium.

On second thought , I'm all in for BANNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Argentium.

Certainly beyond the ordinary, there. I'm voting banner as well.

Regarding the Liberty Caps - can you show individual photos of front and back of each coin? I can just make out some of the dates, but want to be sure I'm replying to something you already haven't dated.

I'd second the suggestion to get back there PRONTO and scour that place dry!

if that's the case, go hammer the heck out of that site.. please save (and post) whatever is left there :headbang:

Those are some great finds... Congrats

That had to be a real thrill for you guys! Finding that many early Large Cents without any state coppers or KG's is a bit out of the norm. No buttons or other relics makes you really think what happened there. That's why this hobby is so interesting 8)

:icon_thumleft: Congradulations on such a great score !!!!!!! Banner !!!!!!!!!!

Wow! really awesome

be very hard to top that! banner vote

Nice finds. Did you dig any buttons?
