Old lead piece found at old Masonic Lodge

I hope someone can identify this. I have no idea what is or what it goes to. It measures 1" tall and 3/4" wide. I found this at an old Masonic Lodge.

Wish I had time today to research it but it looks like it could be a gaming piece. Also you may check the rounded bottom area to see if there is a decorative impression on the bottom. If so, it could be a wax seal stamp. Just a couple of thoughts to get folks going.

It's lead and not cast brass?

Kind of got the look of an old decorative gas valve.

It does not appear to be broken. There is a small indention off center on bottom but is not a hole.

IronSpike, that is exactly what I was thinking also. The gas valve thumb handles sometime only had a small stem going down into the valve body. If it broke the stem flush off it would possible leave a small indention like he said it has on the bottom.

could it be that ole pot metal junk that so many thngs were made of that broke easily?

They used to have finials that went on skeleton keys. Just a thought.
