Old LOCK - need help

I dug this old lock up at the farm property yesterday. Could this be CW era?
Anyone have any idea of the age of this old lock?

Looks like a wrought iron lever padlock with a brass drop (broken off). These were produced in huge numbers from the mid 1800's through the early 1900's. Without a maker's mark, there's really no way to be sure whether it's of Civil War or postwar vintage.
