Think it might be Victorian but not too sure. Still has some color on the metal mostly red. It says "AMITY" across the three letters CSA, but not too sure the order of those letters. On the back of the medallion it reads "A. Johnson 47-49 Johns NY" The house where I found it on was built in the 1800's. Thanks for the help!!

I've several times wondered that. Anyway the examples I find from this company were from 1909-1913. That address was used by Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply (and apparently supplied other fraternal organizations).

This might be a little far fetched but there was an Army Service Corp from 1914-1918. Maybe this medal has something to do with that.

I remember researching these same 3 entangled letters before but I cant find the old thread.

How about Amity Social Club? I can't find any pics of pins or logos but they seem to have been active mostly in the late 19th and early 20th C.

Do you have any links I could look at for that?

Maybe Amity Soccer Club (ASC) in Connecticut--since the piece was made in NY.--Just guessing.

I saw that too and called the club some time back and they did not belive it could have been from them....

As far as that goes there is also an "Amity Shooting Club" at Amity University. But, it is located in India so I don't believe this medal has anything to do with it.

Have an update on this item....Got some info from Western & Eastern Treasures....

Hi-

So far I've had no luck researching the "Amity" item that you found, but it looks as if it's probably a badge or pin from one of the many fraternal orders & societies active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

However, I can offer a bit of information about the manufacturer whose mark appears on the reverse. The Arthur Johnson Manufacturing Co. produced a wide range of jewelry, organizational pins & emblems, etc. They were also one of the first firms to specialize in aviation-related badges and insignia. Your find evidently dates prior to May 2, 1917, when the Jeweler's Circular-Weekly reported that they were relocating from their 40's John St. address:

If further checking turns up anything of interest, I'll write to you again with the details.
