I found this picture in a box of paper documents. It has a name and date written on the back. I read the date to be Jan. 1865 and the name as Brigadier ? Tucker. Anyone recognize the uniform?

looking for sources on Gen. Auchmuty Tucker

This is my first post---

My family has an interest in Auchmuty Tucker and the information you all have provided is fascinating to this newbie so far.

Dirty Mike - could you offer me a pointer to the United Service Magazine vol 153 reference you mentioned?

Turlefoot13 - I'm also interested in tracing the reference you cited "Reference: From SK Pande who quotes reference as Burke and The Times 9 Mar 1891." Google rendered no related links to SK Pande, & which Burke?

Any additional advice on tracking down more bio on Gen. Tucker, his service activity, his family and descendants would be appreciated.
