A good friend of mine was telling me about some foundations he knows of from deer hunting throughout the local area, so of course I just had to check it out. I had to follow a stream a 1/4 mile to an abandoned road. At this road was his hunting cabin, further up that road was some old foundations. I only had time for an hour hunt before it got dark, but this site was like being the first person to search an early 1800s home. Definately worth going back to. Found this silver thimble, a civilian flat button with the only readable word on the back being (TREBLE) this orange pencil thingy that says (WAHL EVERSHARP) looks like a recent drop though. Now the thing that really surprised me was this 1834 Large Cent in sweeeet condition. This LC was less than 1/4 inch down and gave my machine the overload tone, I brushed some dirt away with my hand and there she was. Im really looking forward to a full day of combing that whole area. enjoy the pictures.

ok, had to add some pictures of another thing I found, looks like a piece of a large cent, I hope you can see it in the pictures, when I look at it magnified I can see a date of 1848 or maybe 1846. And the reverse I can barely make out the word STATES, I threw it in
peroxide because I didnt know what it was, it appears to have been flattened, and the break seemed too rigid to be a coin. but after a bit of cleaning it really does appear to be a LC.
