I studied an area of old woods that has walking trails in the 1939 aerial. I found some old coins on a previous trip so I wanted to see if I could get lucky again.

1892-O Barber Dime
1895, 1899, 2x 1902 IHs
Old Pin
Musket Ball

One of my better days today as I like to hit random places people usually ignore. Good luck to everyone on their hunts.

Great work on there on that first year barber MH!!

Thx, I didn't notice the mint mark until I got home. I always like when I can find the O & S mint silvers. I'm jealous that you find them more often than I.

Almost Seated, but I like the Barbers when they pop out. Nice bunch of Indians and the interesting art nouveau piece, looks like thin silver stamped sheet. Is that the same place as your Friday Barber? Congrats

My Friday Barber was in different woods

The woods from yesterday I found a 1908 Barber Dime, 1916 & 1917 Buffalos on first trip. I didn't post it to tnet tho. I'm a slacker.

Thx, my first trip a few weeks ago to this area I hit what I thought was a trail, found a barber and 2 buffalos. Yesterday I expanded my search to the in between areas. I think I found a chill spot which is where I found the barber and 3 of the IHs. Then I went up a hill to another area, found the pin, another IH, and musket ball. I was digging everything and you're right they were all shallow but under a couple inches of leaf clutter.

Well done. That would be a great day for me. I like the “off the beaten path” spots too, mine just yield Barbers though.

Good luck sir.

Thanks Tom, it's fun going to the woods near the city and start swinging near the oldest trees. I almost find more Barbers than Mercs at these spots I hit.

Thx, I was complaining last year how I couldn't find any 1800s dimes. Now I have 5 since November. I love the early Barbers.
