Sure looks CW era.....Can you measure bullet diameter. Harder to say without knowing. 52, 54, 58 to close to eyeball in pic. Looks solid but hard to tell if cavity in base of bullet as well.
 

I don't have anything to measure it with...the base of it is solid...no cavity going up inside.
 

looks like a 58 cw era bullet if so then that is a awesome find considering the area

you can see rifling marks on it. looks to me to be a fairly modern .38 cal
 

Guessing 54 cal. Or larger, age?a couple decades ,guessing here. You sure have history your way, but conicals associated rare.hope you get better dating. How far south to water?.
 

If you have a tape measure, measure it to the 16th's that will get you close enough to give a caliber. looks modern to me...............HH
