I seen this moma chicken and her babies. The other day she had 7 today she was down to 4 man are they tiny

They sure are tiny things But running at large i would be surprised if any survive

Winter's comin', meaning every predator, small or large, is out to procure
all the groceries they can catch. Anything small enough to eat is on the menu.

Yes but they eat in the summer and fall also
Free ranging chicks i think do not stand much of a chance.

I recently caught a coyote on my porch eating cat food. I didn't physically catch him; he popped up on my security cam. If I had caught him, I could have posted a photo of the body.

We just lost another 3 year old tomcat.
They never last too long but the females stick around close and can make it to a full life.
Weve only lost a couple chickens over the years.
We are ofd grid near Gunnison CO.
