Got back to where I found my 2 reales cob about three weeks ago. Wasnt finding much in that immediate area other than the early lead/pewter button. So I spread out and wasnt finding much but scrap lead/pewter pieces until I got a beautiful signal that turned out to be a nearly perfectly preserved complete circa 1690-1720 lead/pewter buckle:headbang: Happy with that, I headed back to the area where the cob came from in preparation to go home. I got a very faint high tone practically right on top of where the previous cob came from. Out popped a thick 4.5 gram cut cob from Mexico. Rescanned the hole and got an even sweeter tone. A 9.5 gram 1656? Potosi 4 Reales cob:headbang: The 4 appears to have been counterstamped too so any info on that appreciated too.

Thanks and good luck. Probably harder were your at. Ive got 19 now, mostly small ones, so a big 4 reales was definitely a welcomed surprise

Simply stunning....woooowww. Can’t say anything that no one else has said, but I definitely nominated you for BANNER! Congrats...and thx for sharing, love to see stuff like that coming out of the ground... Ddf.

I have a cob chunk that has a counter stamp of a 600 in a box with a crown on it so cool congratulations

Thanks. Id say you probably have a piece of a Portuguese counterstamped 8 reales. Would love to see a pic of it or any other cobs you may have

Killer cob, fantastic work! :notworthy:

Late in sending my reply, but at least I'll get these awesome finds back on page 1. Two cobs in the same hole!!! Now that's serious detecting. :notworthy:

Thanks. Not only two cobs in one hole but my two biggest cobs in one hole.

Do not see many 4"s. Like finding those early Cobbs. You had a great hunt sir.
