Hiked about 2 hours today to find a 1910 wheat penny and one toasty old copper. No clue what it is but it kinda looks a tree or something on it. It very well could just be the way it corroded as well but figured this was the place that somebody would recognize something if it was there to be seen. I won't be holding my breath and the other side is much worse.

How close to the Canadian boarder are you?

One thing for sure ..... It's not a Burger King token.

I think you may be holding it upside down. Kinda looks like a Mass. State copper? We may never know.
That's funny I took a pic this morning the other way. Looks a bit eagle like

don't worry when I come up to help you hunt treasure island I'll bring you luck. You'll find that tree yet!

Does kinda look like an eagle but I think the eagles head on a mass coin is facing left

Looks like it could be a Mass copper as dutchtoga said. If you're detecting in Maine than it also makes sense being so close to MA. There are other colonials with eagles, but none that look quite like yours. Regardless of condition, any chance of getting a picture of the other side of the coin?

Don thanks for joining in the ugly copper discussion. I do believe it's a Mass State Copper. I will post a pic of the other side after work. Seems to line up well and it makes sense

Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated. The tips of the wings look right for the Mass copper.

From the second I saw it, I thought Massachusetts copper lol. The eagle is actually pretty identifiable, just upside down. On the other side, even though it's toasted, usually the staff (running almost up and down on the right side) is visible with some cleaning. That will definitely nail it down if you can see that. Great find!!!!!
