All my finds from thursday, a revolutionary war British 35th regiment of foot neck stock buckle half, the 1798 lc has a die crack or 2 so hopefully a good variety. Thanks for looking HH 20160527_093059-1.webp20160527_091317.webp20160528_065639-1.webp20160528_065759-1.webp20160527_145800-1.webp20160527_150139-1.webp20160527_145738-1.webp20160527_145723-1.webp

Your stock buckle is an outstanding find! I found a very decorative one years ago, just never seem many found and to be found with design is special, with military design even better. Your 1798 looks like a very common variety Wide Date, 9 8 Apart and a lump on the right side of O in ON. Those details plus the die break at STATES makes it a Breen 22 Sheldon 161 Rarity 1.

Don

Some really nice finds there, but the neck stock buckle is just killer. The looks to be something under the XXXV. Can you make out what it is?
thanks Steve there are etchings all over the whole piece can't tell what they are until i get the dirt off

My decorative example I found, I never kept good records in the early days of where I found relics, only coins, so I really do not remember which site I found it at!

The abreviation "Reg" just to right of unit number with what looks like a shield or crest below. I saw another etched piece in Troiani's book and I think a digger called Colonial Dude found a Kings Eighth regt. neck stock.
You have a wonderful rare piece!

One of my best finds!!!!

That stock buckle half is a great find and the XXXV is still quite visible. I'm sure you've gone around the area quite a bit looking for the other piece but keep trying. What a wonderful piece of history.

Wow! And great DB and spectacle buckle!
