Beautiful day today after a wild weekend of weather here.
My new Gold Monster worked brilliantly. Took it to a surface area that was rich in gold in the past but man o man has it been hammered over the years with every detector imaginable. Ultra popular spot. Little targets everywhere that have never been dug, was a ton of fun.

How sensitive is this thing in the worst of mineralised ground?

Ten bits for just .56 grams but in todays money in AUD that was $108. 😁

Hi mate. I have the recovery down pat. No kneeling down trying to find where it is and no garden trowels waving it over the coil emptying bits into your hand over and over. Takes about 1 minute once you have dug it out and all done standing upright. Dig it out, zero in with the coil, push the dirt with it onto my flat end of the gold pick with my boot and dump it on the upturned coil. Move or two with my finger and there it is. Sheesh I wince seeing guys down on all fours for every little bit taking several minutes to find the target with garden trowels then go "damn, another shotty pellet". Quick n easy once you learn how to do it. 👍
That's why you will always see bits with the dirt in my pictures on the underside, upturned coil.

Hi, that's a hard one. I reckon there are coin and relic detectors that would possibly go deeper than this on larger targets but im not sure as we only have the little 5" coil for it at the moment. The 10" is coming by years end they say. Im looking forward to that as rocking up to a larger area with just the 5" is a bit daunting. I haven't tried it on anything other than just undug gold. I'll try a couple of coins later today which might give you an idea of depth on other things and see if that helps.

I reckon someone younger and fitter than me would have it done in just a few weeks at todays gold prices. Me getting out only a couple of times a week and doing 3 to 4 hrs max detecting time id be multiplying that time wise. I have no doubts it will pay for itself though.

Your probably right. This is more aimed at or optimised for crazy sensitivity for shallow small gold rather than raw depth.

Excellent !!!!!!!! Nice group of pickers !!!! Back in the early 90s, I found 2 pieces that small in New Mexico with a whites goldmaster vsat. When I found them I couldn't believe it !!! Congrats on your gold !!!!

Thanks. I had a couple of Gold masters over the yrs. They were great detectors in their day that's for sure.

Nah not dumb. I don't have a great deal of beach detecting experience so can't comment on wether I think it would or wouldn't be any good on one.
But for interest sake I tried it on a very fine petite ring.

Im no fan of air tests and rarely bother to do them but here it is anyway.
In difficult mode it detects with the ring flat at 9".
With the ring standing up it detects at 7".
Add another inch in Normal mode.
I have no idea if that's good or bad vs the current crop of beach and coin machines.
