Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
So all summer I had been digging my secret spot. It was a lake that was drained to fix up a dam, I found a gold ring and tons of silver, well around Late August the entire place overgrew with plants and all the metal detectors stopped coming. The dog park I visit often was right by there so I was still going by. One day I see 2 bulldozers, dozing the beach, pushing the sand all the way down, I knew I had to detect again, and when I did I was literally FILLING my pouch with silver and gold. Here are some pictures of the stuff I found. I was still finding stuff there last week, but my pointer broke and its being sent in for repair which may effectively end my detecting for the year and the lake is being filled in in 2 weeks... sad. But alas, heres the finds:

Holy Moley that is amazing. I'm with the others get back out there any thing else you find is gravy.

Great numerous finds. Time limit..... I'd haunt the place w/o a PP. Or if you must have one get a Harbor Freight.
You'll pay for that new pointer easy. Then the spot will be gone again.

Did I say, lake draw downs are the sh--, imho probably one of the most productive places to hunt, better if the lake has historic value...Keep hunting that spot my friend!! it will pay off ten fold..

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

i had one of the rings restored for a gift i gave to a friend. it was a london topaz with 2 8 cut diamonds on 10k gold

That is a dream come true!

Really awesome finds. Who wouldn't love finds like that? Congrats to you!

Wow....what a day of it! Will you try and locate and return any thing with identifying marks? Thank you for posting....made this Vermonter happy living through your hunt!

This must be what it felt like to detect in the old days.

You just lived one of my many MDing dreams, AWESOME!! That must have been rough when you dug a plug to only have silver and not another gold. Lol Wow!!
Congrats on finding the honey hole of honey holes!!

the ring with the red square gem with the date 12 25 29 looks to be an extremely expensive ring, i would get that appraised. i wouldnt let a pin pointer keep me from that spot especially considering thats the last time youll get to detect it.

*UPDATE*

I drove by this place even though its mostly covered in snow and most of the water has been filled back in, but the area that was producing is still half exposed with the other half being under maybe a foot of water. not a problem since I just bought an AT Pro Digger Kit. Once the weather gets a bit nicer and the snow melts I can resume, although I am sure 90% of the stuff is gone, every time I went back it still gave me something. So I will definitely be going back this spring.

I would be on the phone ordering a pinpointer overnight plus a CTX

wow and WOW! Yes the sig ring is very cool indeed! Excellent haul!

what an awesome lot of finds, well done.

We're going to have the same situation here this spring. Hopefully it isn't elbow to elbow detectorists, lol. That topaz is a stunner!

Those are some amazing finds !! I wouldn't let a broken pinpointer stop me. Get out there man and hit it while you can !!

Duke davis the bottle in your hand looks to be a old kiwi shoe polish type and for the rest looks like my wifes jewelry box . Really though you got a neat collection there.vanzutphen
