This park is spoiling me . My Son Carson and I got back to hunt the park this morning for about 2 hours . It didn't take long for the first good find , a .925 silver ear ring with a big diamond . Well I'm sure it's just a CZ but I'll take . The next good find at 7 inches was a 1912 Barber dime . At this time all I'm thinking about is GOLD ! Carson and I were hunting close together and talking when I get a strong +10 VDI at 1 inch , BINGO GOLD ! It is a 4 gram 14K gold Mother Mary pendent with three different colors of gold . I love this park . Next good find goes to Carson , a 1942 Wheat cent at 2 inches . He is a happy boy ! Last but not least is a old military button . I need help on this one . I thought it was U.S. till I saw the crown above the eagle , English ? Total clad was $1.32 for Carson and $6.22 for myself .
We are hoping to do it all over again tomorrow !

Those are some great finds... Congrats :icon_thumright: Love it when the son wants to hunt with me...

That is just cool pl8man! You sure pile up the jewelry, I have lousy luck with rings, several silver but not one gold in 3 years, I have hunted two good sized sports fields and have dug 50 silver coins and hundreds of clad there, but not one single ring or jewelry in either field. Crazy!

Try hunting the grass areas around the tot lots , I have great luck in part of the grass areas .

Dang nice finds! That'd be a trip if the diamond earring was real, and not a CZ! Grats! :icon_thumleft:

Excellent finds guys! :hello2:
Is there any back mark on that button? :icon_scratch:

Hey Glen, looks like you and carson did well today! :notworthy: I bet he's the one that's going to find silver tomorrow buddy! That religious medal is very nice! :o

All I found today was a zinc canning jar lid, at least it had and intact glass sealer lid still in it! :icon_thumright:

We are hoping to hunt again tomorrow if the rain holds off . Carson due for some silver and gold :headbang:
Thanks,
Glen

That eagle button threw me for a loop. It looks a lot like a WWI-WWII style US button--except for the crown. I think the crown plus the fact that the back is gone (possibly iron that rusted away) make it most likely a civilian blazer button made to look like a military button, IMO.
I recently found what looked like a Civil War navy button but it's the same kind of deal. Not 100% the same design and with an iron back, which I don't think is typical of military buttons.
Nice finds all around!

Grass areas? What's that? Not many parks around here with grass, especially, after the drought we have had this past summer!

Nice finds for the both of you!

We are very lucky here in California , the weather has been very cool and a lot of rain the last two years . I hope it gets much better for all of you in Texas .
