I'm visiting friends in Ca., so I brought my ATPro. Went to a park with a swim area and with low water no need for the waders. After 2 hours my finds were a quarter, 14k white gold ring with 8 cz diamonds and dentures! I decided to try the grass area and it was a clad bonanza! In about an hour I found 3 quarters, 5 dimes, 7 nickels and 18 pennies. This was in an area 40 ft. by 50ft. most were less then 2 inches. I stopped digging signals that were more then 4". This grassy area is at least 200 yards long. Lots to search! Going back tomorrow!

If that park is old enough, you'll want to dig those deep signals! There might be some old coins in there.

Awesome finds,

No doubt! Skip the 2 inchers Lefty and dig the 4+ signals!

Dig all the signals, you should dig all shallow or deep, silver and jewelry is sometimes deep or shallow. Sounds like you found a spot that everyone else forgot about or it hasn't seen a metal detector over it in a long time. Congrats on your finds!

I say dig em as they come because if you don't you may be to tired to go back over them and even if you do go back another day you will be tempted to try a new area with shallow targets as well. I dig em as i go. Judging from what you have found there is plenty of good stuff there.

Everyone has a secret hot spot u got urs now

Yep you need to check out the deeper signals too, you may be surprised at what's down there, especially if the area has been used a long time.

I went back today! Started out in swim area and only found a penny so I went to the grassy area. So many signals I only did shallow hits unless it showed up as possible silver. 67 coins dug and probably 60 of them I used the probe to pop them out. Then I went back to the swim area and dug two rings and a diamond (CZ)? earring. What's shocking is there are lots of holes in the swim area from other detectors but the don't detect the grassy area.
One of the rings was junk but the other one is .925 silver, 18k gold and diamonds! 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 2 nickels and 51 pennies, oh and one token to an arcade. Going home tomorrow but I'll be back in a couple of weeks for more digs! HHpic3.jpgpic3a.jpg

Got yourself a nice little honey hole there.

Ain't it a great sport. I love it. Kill um tomorrow too.

great job looks like fun!
The one park I hunt a lot has a volleyball court, I have been to that park close to 100 times, each and every time I cross the volleyball court to get to the grass area's. I have never found one red cent in that court but the park has been very productive!!!

The dentures.... I was hunting in Pro Zero with disc. set at 35. Got a solid tone at 40 so I sifted thru the sand. Thought is was gold at first, eyes were playing tricks on me. Most of my water finds were near a bouy. I guess people like to hang on the swim area markers. The teeth, they go in my treasure hall of fame. Good news is I'm going back next week for 4 days and hope to get a couple of hunts in.

I made it back to the park/swim area. 57 coins, watch, silver ring, sinkers and a few whatchamacallits. The sinkers were found in the swim area that's dry right now. I started out going over the area that I already hit to see if I could get deeper targets (silver coins) but nothing was over 4". No silver except for the ring. Then went to Vegas to spend Christmas with the parents and while my dad walked his dog in the park I detected the volleyball area and found a Indian head nickel! Now it's back to Ca. for 4 days and hoping for a few more trips to the park. HHcoin 004.JPGindian2.jpg

Lefty, I found a buffalo nickel also on Thursday. Isn't there a buffalo on the reverse side I hope ? Yours looks to be in better shape than mine. Congrats on your finds.

There is! I don't have a picture of the other side. Nice find Fletch.

You definatley have found a "Honey Hole"!:icon_thumright: Do you have any idea of how long the area has been in use? There should be some silver there? Have you found any wheat pennys?
