Patriots' leftovers and a surprise silver.
I had some time to kill today before work, so I went back to the a farm I've been to lately. Little did I know until recently, that the good 'ole "Patriot" picked it clean when he was there in the past.

I found a silver thimble last time out, which I returned to the farmer. He told me to keep it, but once I mentioned that it may have been his grandmother's, he smiled and accepted it. He gave me carte blanche to hack away around the house, but I think I'll just wait until spring.
There are other spots to hit.
Anyway, finds were few and far between today aside from the usual junk. My nemesis today was little piece of copper pipe, scattered around the area. Everytime I hit one I thought... "old copper", only to be receive an "old crapper".
I found this little tin. (I've never heard of Gin Pills before)
I'm not sure what these are, but I think the buckle looks like something from suspenders or a child's belt.
I thought this was a musketball at first, but it has a whole going through it. Stumped again.
I found a 1929 CDN. penny and an old crusty copper. It was a mess. I put it through the peroxide for a few hours and finally got a date out of it. It's an 1893 CDN. one cent.
On the way home I stopped off at a rest stop and found these two little guys side by side. I thought the American 1967 quarter was an old copper at first. It's in rough shape. But, I didn't have to guess about the silver... 1957 CDN. quarter.
