65 degrees today in Missouri and beautiful digging! Was able to get a short hunt in at an old homesite lot in a small town near here......started digging pottery and stoneware shards,my standard horseshoe find, a tiny cork bottle and then......out popped the eagle.....

Gypsy Girl,
I really, really believe that it's a flag topper. It's head is turned, not straight.
Back in the 1700's when I was a teenager, I saw some like that.
Great find.
Can I go visit "mom" next Christmas? I would love it.
