I was hoping someone could help me read the words on the lid of this jar. The jar has a very unusual shape. I think it says pickled meats, but I'd love to know what the logo says. Beer Cleveland? I see a crown... I know this isn't a treasure, but I think it is fun. Thanks!

Although I must admit that I every time I go to France I almost starve to death and leave at least 20 lbs. lighter. I call it the "French Diet" Lol! :laughing7: I do not eat cheese (except mozzarella), escargot (snails), steak tartare (raw steak) and especially not foie gras! Here's why and it is very cruel to animals! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foie_gras

Foie Gras

Last summer although I was hungry but wouldn't eat most of the other "delicacies" at my friend Timothee's Cafe' and Dance Club in Paris. I ended up drinking way too much champagne and wine in the early afternoon and I accidentally did eat steak tartare ONCE! :o

Things certainly went crazy from there and to this very day I still blame it all on that steak tartare...

In other words, American food is definitely still way better! :usflag:

Since I travel a lot and don't have time for my own garden...

This is my idea of good food and everything made from scratch! Also remember any garden is as only as good as the seeds that you start out with and how you tend it.

Steak tar tar Yum!!!! has to have some onion in it though. If you don't like it, add a pinch of Lawrys Seasoning salt. Steak? If it doesn't quiver when you stick the fork in, take it back! It's over cooked!!!!!!!!!! The little cans of potted meat are great for camping. heat them up in the coals, spread on a piece of bread with a dab of mayo. Hey Piratess! Your Sis n law makes really nice looking Yorkshire! Mine always look like belly flaps off some unknown fish. Any pickled egg fans? Love em but the next day the gas makes me wanna cut my behind off and leave it downwind somewhere.......

The secret to making great Yorkshire Pudding is to first heat the oven to the right temperature, then put in your oiled pan getting it hot, take it out and immediately poor in the batter and return to the oven as fast as possible and the biggest thing of all is; once it's in the oven NEVER open the oven door to check it as it will collapse and go flat on you just like a souffle'.

As for the pickled eggs I've never had them and after what you said, I don't want to either Lol! :laughing9:

Well, there's my biggest mistake, opening the door. It's hard to cook when you have no patience. Ever look at the history of potted meat? They used to cut up meat like steaks, fry em up partially & place them in a crock & cover with the grease. Then keep doing this in layers until the crock was full. Guess they tried to use them up before the bottom layer got too ripe to eat.
Getting kind of timid in my old age.:laughing7: Used to be I'd eat anything that wasn't moving, if was moving You'd beat it with a spoon until it quit moving then enjoy. :tongue3: Like I always say "Try it! If you don't like it spit it out!"
