Ivan, I hope you and everyone else knows I'm just funnin'. My spelling is often wrong and my syntax and general usage is laughable. I barely got out of high school. No college or education beyond my own personal reading. All errors in print are mine alone. Working without spell check is like working the high wire without a net. Much more fun to think you could get killed in public or shown to be a half-wit.

When you turned that "I" and "A" around in Indian, I almost peed myself. Figured you did it on purpose.

Pour spaling is OK, but Chapter long posts without a paragraph break is immediately trashed as unreadable regardless of how interesting the content...

I tried dating an "e"nglish major once. couldn't communicate very well! he was too busy breaking down my grammer. life is to short to worry 'bout such things 'les it's important. spell chk would take the charedter out of so many posts, & what wouldn't it also take regional "twangs" & make english just a little too generic? I understand it's important in certain circumstances, but here? not so much. my granny would concur. her "english" was full of regional words most folk don't know, less they are from where she was - -raised- -

I don't know for sure, but I'll take a guess. The "ute" in question may be a reference to a Joe Pesci character in the movie "My Cousin Vinny", and thats he talked. At least, that's how I read it.

Almost never. I build large wooden boats and do much ciphering on the fly. It's all pencil on scrap of wood figuring. I can do basic math faster like this then running around the shop hunting for a calculator hidden under some old donut bag. It's about what you grew up doing. Most kids today cannot make correct change at the dime store because they've never been made to do simple math in the past without a calculator. Us older folk had no choice but to do much of our math in our heads or on some scrap of paper. We are not smarter, just trained differently.

most kids today can not do fractions to save their lives -- so doing carpenter work --you gotta be kidding me.--- ask a kid which is bigger 5/16ths or 10/32 nds and if added together would they be more or less than 5/8ths of a inch? and see what happens. -- give him a pencil and paper only and say 3 min to "solve" this problem.

Hunter, the kid can't add or subtract but if my computer craps out I need a 14-year-old to get me going again. Today's kids are not dumber than we were, only trained differently for a new world. I like to make fun of them too but secretly understand the real score.
