Yep salamander, they burrow down into the dirt, under decaying logs/wood and thick leaf cover, etc. because they have to keep their body moist.
I believe it's a marbled salamander because of the white color, a tiger salamander is usually more a yellow than white color.

Knowing the size of that salamander would help to know exactly what it is, Marbled salamanders only get around 4" long, while Tigers can get up to 8" long, they are the second longest salamanders in North America. You absolutely could be right. I don't know where the location is. We have Tigers around here and I just assumed. And I've seen the Tigers Corvette yellow to almost orange and light yellow/grayish in my hunts. I'd love to herp in more areas
HahaYou have a very sensitive detector to pick that up.
It was small so it was marbled thanKnowing the size of that salamander would help to know exactly what it is, Marbled salamanders only get around 4" long, while Tigers can get up to 8" long, they are the second longest salamanders in North America.

That has to be very dangerous. We had a guy near me that raised a pet mountain Lion. For 2 years they was friends . Then one day a sheriff;s deputy was talking to him about him letting it run loose some times. He showed the deputy how tame it was him. Then for some reason the cat attacked the owner i= and the deputy shot and killed it. I think there was more to this story I just gave a brief explanation,
