possible hammer stones

Both fit very well in hand and were found along the river and on the lake, along with other evidence (arrow heads, flint pieces)
the second picture shows an index finger indention

I never really understood why anyone would think indentations were created by or for someone's finger to hold onto a hammer stone that being said your pieces there are completely natural the best thing to look for would be evidence of being used as a hammer stone which I don't see on yours.

Natural rocks, gator is correct, they didn't make finger holes..

On the 2nd one could you possibly show the round end that is facing your hand? Probably natural but just in case Id like to see if there is any use wear on the bottom. Some shaped like that were used for grinding here where I live at in Georgia. Not all Pestles were pretty in my area. rock

ya here are some more pics,mainly the shape and the feel of it got my attention, but I don't see a whole lot of evidence besides that. The back side is pretty flat.

Is that the one with the finger holes on it? If so it is natural.

oh, ya heres the rock from the second picture with the finger thingy, its real smooth on the flat spots so not a whole lot of evidence I guess, it may just look weird naturally.

Well that one with the smooth spots you might want to set aside in your collection. Looks a lot like this one I found in a camp site this year. Type of Grinder

I agree with "rock" , looks like it was used for kneading & milling grain or something , in three different places.
