I posted this one before with better pictures. It has a similiar shape to the last two I posted, Don't know if there's any connection. This one is made of catalina/palos verdes schist, an abrasive, metamorpic rock. It's oval shaped. One side is concave the other convex. It sems like it would be good for scrapping or scooping. This rock has a texture, that with a sharp edge, would make a good grout removal tool.

It has the rite shape but doesnt show any secondary flaking on the edges. The 2nd and 3rd pics shows the true cortex of the stone so if it is anything I would call it a reduction piece or just a rock piece. Keep looking.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure.

that piece looks to have such a thick patina that secondary flaking could easily be covered up.
it has subtle hints of some work under there.
if it came from a known site I would think it could be. Otherwise...I'd lean towards a rock.
