Potomac River Find

We found this one in the water... about four inches under, while walking along the bank. Any idea about the type? Molly..... have you seen these before? i find a lot made from this same material in the same area but never two of the exact same type. I have found a few scrapers and you remember that axe? It was found in this exact same spot.

Yes, I found quite a few of those types on the campsite I hunted in NC. I always wondered why they were so smooth, seen as there was no water near the site but, after research, I found out there was a stream running through there many many years before. I guess they are that smooth due to water flow. Prolly a Guilford round base at some point but, utlised as a blade..

Thank you Molly. I agree with the water theory. So many of mine are smooth like this one and in my case... most are pulled from the river. Hope you are well and that you have a great holiday :wink:

Thank you Bluesy! I wish you a great Thanksgiving as well and as for Charlie...... I believe that he knows that soon the house will be filled with goodies that he can eat haha. His mouth litterally waters the moment I THINK of food..... and its no surprise that (Like me) Thanksgiving is a favorite day for him. :wink:
