Some may not be aware of new feature at top of forum, located between Gallery and Top Finds to left of search bar. It is POTW, Posts Of The Week, it tracks which posts receives most reactions for the week.

All threads are eligible, based on reactions for each thread each week is my understandings.

it is based only on reactions per week, not on total accumulated reactions since thread posted, counters reset weekly for POTW.

LOL, yes, only been here 20 years.🤣......

Not sure what you are asking, been in RCT many times. The reactions are not counted by thread, they are counted by individual posts counted that week, if that is the confusion.

The post with the most reactions in 7 day period and counters then reset, I do not know what day they reset. If it has 44 one week and 35 following week it is 35 as far as counter goes, the other 44 are disqualified for counter purpose.

I didn't write the code so only passing on what I know exploring it.

That is my fault, sir, I said "Posts Of The Week, it tracks which threads receives most reactions for the week." I wrote post at start of sentence and thread at end in error. I corrected it to read posts/posts to avoid future misunderstanding.
