My first Iberian (Pre roman culture) find!!! and its in perfect shape, its a pity its only a piece!!!! When it popped out I didn't know what it was, though a dog from a fibula or something, but I went to some friends and they all were amazed... The Iberian culture its from the 700 to the 100 BC!!! :o

Also found a very rare coin, from King Juan I (1379-1390), its a pity its only half...still in great shape.

A beautiful Christian pendant, with roman numbers on the face where Christ appears. I did not want to clean it more, its a little fragile.

Another coin in great shape was the Blanca, its my best one so far. Not a rare coins, its just in great condition.
Then some lead, buttons and a jewelry holder...

Thanks for watching!

More Great Old Finds :o
And I do mean OLD.
Happy you got the bigger half of your 'Juan' ;D

Hi Nutria!
It is undoubtedly a precious fragment of Iberian fibula :o (the Wolf is a totem animal of our Iberian ancestors ), and also the artistic style Belongs to the Iberian culture ... also the green patina and wear show that is an authentic piece .
Here I show you a Iberian Fibula with representation of a Wolf and a stone figure a Wolf also almost identical to yours .... ears backwards and slanted eyes is characteristic of these representations Ibericas the fourth century.
And I do not think you find anything better in your life .... I GIVE MY VOTE BANNER! :hello2:

:icon_thumleft:

You got my vote Nu :icon_thumleft: the wolfs head was also very popular in Vikng Art as well, often on strapends and outher mounts, I'm wondering if your wolfs head might have come from a drinking vessel :dontknow:

Although Saxon/Viking finds in my area are rare, I probably get about 20 items a year (in a good/lucky year). So your find is more comparable to the rarer period of the Late Bronze Age-early Iron Age (800-500BC), I only have a couple from this period in my lifetime
Problem is, if it were a nice gold coin from this period, people would kind of get it, but beginning an artifacts it is somewhat lost on people as to its importance.
I will definitely vote banner, but I'm guessing it will do little good :-\

Your Iberian Wolfs Head gets another vote from me !

Hi Nutria!
The Wolf are very common in artistic representations of the Iberians.
but not small bronze figurines, the vast majority of representations of Wolf in the Iberian art were made of stone, less the Patera de Tivissa .
