Prospector Shot on his own land - trying to mow!

I've been following this travesty of (in)justice since the beginning and agree that the LOE's need to do their jobs or be investigated............
In the meantime, if it were me, I'd set stakes and post "No Trespassing" signs every 10 or 20 feet at my property line and allow a three foot wide strip of tall grass to grow. Then set another line of stakes at the backside of that strip with more "No Trespassing" signs so that they overlap (not in line with each other). The final touch would be bear traps in the tall grass...............if you hear screams of agony, ignore them.............

Sidebar discussion: I've suffered from calcium/oxalate kidney stones since 1989 and have a vial of 30 that have been "caught" with the little screened funnel. Countless many have escaped. Last month a doctor I did some work for read me a recent study/report about upping my calcium intake, explaining that the body will only absorb the calcium it needs and expel the rest as waste. Any oxalates in the body will bind with that calcium and be expelled. I've taken that advice and will continue for a while..........I am very appreciative of the tip about the magnesium/zinc supplement and will keep it in mind..................

There are so many CRAZY things I'm finding out about this County. It's just nuts.

Imagine the worst, then multiply it by ten, then youll really know how nuts this country has become. Its a hell of a lot worse than you may think.

You also may be able to contact your State Bureau of Investigation or State Attorney General's Office and report your ordeal and the Shooting with Intent to Kill offense or at least aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against your husband and lack of an arrest. I'm not familiar with the parameters for them to get involved, but if it is like it is here and several other states, the State Bureau of Investigation can get involved or take over the investigation if requested by the local District Attorney, a State Legislator, the State Attorney General, and sometimes County Commissioners can make the request. It may have been a civil dispute to begin with, until the shooting started. I am a retired Oklahoma State Trooper, and the lack of investigation and lack of arrest is shocking.

Thanks Mark,

It is very disturbing, and comforting to know that someone with your background recognizes that this isn't normal. I've contacted SLED, they said I'd have to go through the Sheriff's office, etc. We've retained an attorney... Hopefully he can get another LE agency to come in... I love your signature quote: "The wicked flee when no man pursueth but the righteous are bold as a lion"

Trooper has his eyes open to things,he know whats going on.His head isnt buried in the sand florist.Dont ask me how i know,I'll just say gut feelings and lots of instinct.

Mark.... Brad here (Limitool)... you are so correct and thank you for your post, insight and opinion. It's good to hear especially coming from someone with your background. It's "things" like this that leads some law obeying folks to do what they do on there own at times. This meaning some folks "dropping a dime" on people who can take care of these type of things but would NEVER harm ANYONE in their normal daily life what-so-ever.

And I'd bet if this guy was "suddenly" confronted and he ended up with some problems there would be a HUGE investigation then....!!!! Go figure. I admit it doesn't make it right. Nor does it make Steve whole again and ease the families nerves.... but if L.E. isn't interested in giving him an attitude adjustment or holding him accountable and "somehow" he gets one.... then so be it. He better hope L.E. holds him accountable.

Spoke with the Oathkeepers a bit ago. The gentleman we speek to had put in a call to the Sheriff. But got a call back from the Investigator instead. I do hope the Sheriff returns his call. I know it troubled the Sheriff that someone from th Investigative Division called me after the first assaults when the sheriff says they shouldn't have even known about my calling him, or him sending the officer back. That call from an investigator was an attemt to intimidate me out of filing a report. The sheriff didn't understand why an investigator would call from his office, and eluded that I might be mistaken... No such luck, there is such a thing as caller ID.

Just thought I'd explain why I find it troubling that if the sheriff gets a call from the Oathkeepers, it seems odd to me that an investigator calls them back. Since I experienced that myself.

I have a lot to do to try to protect this family, our pets, and our property... Putting up fencing, etc as soon as I can.

:occasion14: It will sort out but not on your time line.

Just wanted to say that I absolutely loved your husbands music.. it brought back a lot of memories. He has a great talent.

I sure hope that everything works out for you. I had to deal with someone cutting gate locks and crossing my land to get to the back of their property. I just put up a fence where the gate was. so far, so good.

Picking up gates and security cameras tomorrow (Hopefully)... WOO HOO. I'm going to place gates at my different lot lines. Hopefully that'll at least keep trashy folks from dumbing and littering on our property. Gates don't do a thing to put the criminal behind bars, or keep him from taking shots at us. Hopefully the cameras will be a deterant though. We'll fence it all in later.

WHAT? no claymores :laughing7:

Bouncing Betties also buried in the road would surely take out the trash. When you hear that click, you might as well bend over and kiss your' butt goodbye!???:icon_pale: Ohhhh :censored:!!! exploding-bomb.gif

Your best bet to resolve this is with the state police or even the ATF. Nothing good will happen if a bunch of guys show up with guns strapped to their hips. If this guy ends up being shot by anyone who posted here (or one of their friends), it will be considered a premeditated act and they will go to jail. Enough of the macho John Wayne talk. Get someone in law enforcement to end this situation now.

You guys either live in an imaginary dream world, or you are still smoking crack.
The VAST majority if crime goes completely uninvestigated and unsolved. yeah, Wikipedia, look it up.

It would be nice if the law worked the way it is supposed to, but in the majority of my experiences....it doesn't. Therefore I am my best defence and I better have a darn good story to back it up with.

.....or.... just stoop lower than the perp for a few minutes... take care of business.... and don't worry about the "good story". Maybe work for serve-pro..... "Like it never even happen"....? Then go watch the game.

So Floristweb,,,

Whats the update on the issue down there?
I was honestly expecting to hear or read something somewhere that the perp was arrested or whatever.
Hope all is well there

I don't think too many shootings go "completely uninvestigated and unsolved". I'm sure a lot of minor disputes with neighbors are ignored or swept under the rug, but not when one neighbor is shooting at another!

And there's no need for that "smoking crack" comment. If you can't reply in an adult manner, don't bother replying at all. I don't smoke, drink or do drugs, so I find that comment highly offensive.
