Prospector Shot on his own land - trying to mow!

image.webpI have witnessed 200lbs white tails drop from one round of a PCP. This guy did not use one. I believe he used a 22. Rimfire.

. I believe he used a 22. Rimfire

A .22 long rifle high velocity and hyper velocity will completely penetrate a 1970 plymouth dusters drivers door and continue to exit out the passenger door, just as long as it doesnt hit a window mechanism part.the hood to a riding lawn mower wouldnt faze it,unless it hit the engine,it would be out the other side.trust me a .22 long rifle wouldnt be stopped by bone, the bullet would just be deflected by it and would continue on doing more damage,or it would exit the body.the projectile on the gauze pad is a pellet.Hows one to know that there werent 3 guys with 3 air rifles taking pot shots at him?

Very well coulda been, just higher up on the probably not scale. You have to take into consideration how far the shots where taken from. At 100 yards that .22 doesn't have as much umph, especially if from a handgun.

Take a look at the rim fire ballistics chart i posted.some are still moving at over 1100 fps at 100 yards.

LOL no nitric, not .25 auto pistol,i'd take a .22 over that:laughing9:, .25 air rifle are manufactured.Their not as common as .22 air rifles but they do exist.

And they constantly say that Mexico is bad......

All this talk about bullets and pellets is complete jabberwocky and useless. It does not matter if he was hit with a pellet or a bullet. The fact remains, he was shot at and hit, period. End of story. Next step is figuring out why the sumb-itch hasn't been arrested yet. Screw all this bs talk about bullets and pellet guns, it's useless on this thread.

That was EXACTLY my point a few posts back.... It's a mute point between a pellet / .22. Reds right about the .22 being a nasty round. Those bullets do tend to move all over within a body. I believe (still) that Steve heard and recorded exactly the chain of events. 3 pops... 2 hit the mower and the last one hit him. The "pops" had to be the weapon firing not bullets hitting the mower.

As far as a meth head being able to "afford" a weapon of high quality don't assume he bought anything. Highly doubt it... could he have one? Hell yes.... but don't assume he buys anything. Remember he lives in a small mobile trailer, no power, water or septic and no job. But he's drives a vehicle and can afford gas, propane, food and other items. He owns a small cal. weapon that can reach out 200+ ft. and bury a bullet to the bone in a mans calf and penetrate a lawn mower tire. The Co. health dept. obviously doesn't care right along with L.E.

diggummup is right.... The facts are laid out despite the caliber of the weapon used. This a-hole needs to be confronted and then what happens just has to happen. You can start out with a couple of hits from a Taser... a good old fashion ass whuppin follows and then get serious. If the girlfriend come to the rescue... just knock her out. This coward needs to be dealt with on a lower scale then he stooped to. Get into the gutter, then shower and carry on. Some people don't listen carefully.... They can't tell the difference between a threat and a warning.

We all agree that it doesn't matter what the man was shot with, I just don't believe it was with a pellet rifle. That's all

I am wrought with stress as well as concern for Terri, Steve and Tabitha because I am still stuck here in Tennessee while my' 2009 Ford F-150 is getting repaired and they need help and protection. I took my' truck in yesterday to have them replace what they call the "Lead Frame Assembly Connector" (a little known part used in some previous recalls) which was supposed to be the cheaper route (around $600) for repairing the problem with the transmission internals not talking to the outside coupler which relays the information to the TCM (Transmission Control Module) and PCM (Powertrain Control Module) versus a whole Valve Body Assembly replacement (which also contains the same or similar part) at a cost of around $1600 total. However, the part did not fix the problem and although they believe it should have worked, they said it was primarily for the 2010 through 2014 Ford F-150's and they will study the part to find why it will not work on my truck's transmission. The good news is, the Service Manager at the Ford Dealership (Morristown Ford in Morristown, TN) stated that they were going to replace the whole Valve Body Assembly in my truck's transmission, that I will only have to pay the original stated (around) $600 cost and they will pay the rest from a Customer Satisfaction Fund that they use to fix customer's vehicles when they are dissatisfied with the repairs that were previously done and not up to their satisfaction. If anyone on Treasure Net ever finds themselves in need of repairs on their' Ford cars, trucks or SUV's, I recommend getting their' vehicle to Morristown Ford in Morristown, TN as they take good care of their customers.

Terri, Steve and Tabitha, I will call you later to update you on my situation here and to get an update on your all's situation there.

Frank, about the Transmission Control Module, a friend had same prob
it was a software update issue for the TCM

:occasion14:, either way I hope justice is served and those responsible for this ongoing absurdity are held accountable. May peace return to you all sooner than later. Mike

Don't fret my friend. They're gonna get that truck fixed. We can't even clean up on the property now anyway because we're down with the crud.... I did get another mower yesterday - WOO HOO! Our dear friend and former minister actually got it for us.. Took ours to have it fixed, but just traded for one similar that the repairman had. Hopefully I'll get past this dang virus and get to work soon.

As long as ya all have the CRUD.... that will put it off. I'm gonna call ya now.

Terri... They keep saying that but it ain't happened yet! They installed the new Valve Body Assembly today and it would not communicate with the PCM. They thought that it might be the PCM but when they put the old Valve Body Assembly back in the transmission, it started communicating just fine. However, that won't last but now they know that the replacement they got in, is a dud and they ordered another one and it will be put in tomorrow.

I am glad you all got another mower and I hope it is better than your' old one! If they ever get the truck problems solved and I can get there, I will try to remember to bring some of my' tools just in case we need to do some tuning and/or repairs on the newer mower.

cw0909... If the new ordered replacement Valve Body Assembly doesn't work, then I will mention the TCM software update to them. Do you know whether the problem was caused by a new TCM software update that was done on your friend's truck or whether the TCM needed a new software update to fix the problem? I wonder if this may be the reason the Lead Frame Assembly replacement did not work to fix my truck's transmission problems!!??

Brad (Limitool)... I hope one or both of us can get over to SC soon to help out Terri, Steve and Tabitha with the problem! However, I know that you have your' hands full at home right now but will get there as soon as you can.

You also may be able to contact your State Bureau of Investigation or State Attorney General's Office and report your ordeal and the Shooting with Intent to Kill offense or at least aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against your husband and lack of an arrest. I'm not familiar with the parameters for them to get involved, but if it is like it is here and several other states, the State Bureau of Investigation can get involved or take over the investigation if requested by the local District Attorney, a State Legislator, the State Attorney General, and sometimes County Commissioners can make the request. It may have been a civil dispute to begin with, until the shooting started. I am a retired Oklahoma State Trooper, and the lack of investigation and lack of arrest is shocking.
