I would like to give someone an artifact from my collection. This will be free of charge and before The Negatives start chiming in - This will be a P.F. and to the very best of my knowledge is Very Authentic. I wasn't sitting with the Native American when he or she made it, but like i said, i have scoped it and believe it to be authentic. After you receive it you can post it and ask all the experts on the forum of it's authenticity. I have seen on the forum that members send each other artifacts and i would like to do the same for someone. I will even pay the postage and shipping. If you will simply like this post, then i will put your name down and in a week, i will draw out the name. I hope this is ok and meets guidelines. If not, at least everyone will know i tried. gw1.webpgw2.webpgw3.webpgw4.webp I have added pics of the point i will be sending. I hunt Missouri quite often and Dalton Points are very prevalent. This piece is a no brainer with patina, minerals and ancient resharpening evident. I hope you guys are not offended by my simple gesture, but if i sent anything of greater value, it would DEF be called a fake. Enjoy and thank you. I will be sending it out a week from tomorrow. I will draw the name next Sunday.

Great idea Moji. Thanks for the most generous freebie opportunity. Occasionally, I'll give silver coins to the person that guesses the closest to my clad total. Everyone loves these little giveaways.

Please enter my name in the drawing.
2015 is that close

:hello2:me:hello2:me:hello2:me ill take it.just kidding mogi.

Master Mogi....if you autograph it, I am in. I truly would enjoy having a Mogi original signed by you.

Update on giveaway point - Hey everyone, thank you all soooo much for the kind responses!!! YAAA! As most of you know i C.O.A. all my artifacts. This includes personal finds. This is done for value purposes and insurance. However, this one has not been looked at yet. I am showing pics of boxes of arrowheads that i have not sent off for C.O.A.'s and this one came out of these. But, here is what i do know. I believe it to be 100% authentic and have looked at it under the scope many times and the chances of someone salting the field is very, very slim. But, like i said before, i was not there when it was made. Also, after looking at it in much more detail, i think it was larger at one time. I am posting more pics that show it with bevels on both sides from massive re-sharpenings. I feel like the base for whatever reason was re-modified as well. It is still a killer Dalton and i have lit it up U.V. and U.A. and can see no trace of modern rework. If you feel like it is not authentic when you receive it or the experts here discredit it,then feel free to do with it as you choose. This artifact is coming from my heart and i hope you enjoy it. It is a Missouri find. Enjoy friends. I will draw the name out of a hat on Sunday afternoon. Stay Tuned! God bless, Mogif1.webpf2.webpf3.webpf4.webpf5.webpy1.webpy2.webp

That is quite a box full of points there, but I would be a little more selective in protecting those points so that they don't get chipped or broken. Looks like you have a nice collection. Out here on the ''High Plains'' finding artifacts is much more difficult as it is back east. Out here it is necessary to find the areas that were the hunting grounds or finding where the nomadic Indians camped. There is such a vast area to hunt.
As for Larson 1951 (Steve) he was privileged to hunt a 13 acre Mandan village. Steve was very generous in sharing the bountiful gathering of artifacts from this site. He was unwavering in sharing his finds. This forum has many who are generous in sharing their finds, and many thanks to those who have shared their bounty.

yea, nothing like Mr.Larson.i am glad i got to give him a point

I gave away a couple of buckets of pottery just to get rid of it. I dont keep it much anymore. It can surly add up quick. Now if you had offered that Turkey Tail as the give away I might of taken that.

Looks like a 1 in 32 chance to win at this time.

If I am the winner I will enjoy this piece for two weeks and then send it to another on the list.

reuellis - now that is another great idea! The ripple effect of kindness :)

Ok, peeps - I have removed some of the names due to their very rude remarks of my other posts since i started this thread. I am taking that this post is being read by the ones that are still interested in the piece. I am drawing the name in just a few minutes and will check with you in order to confirm that you would still like to have the artifact. If you do not, then i will go to the next person. If you decide that you just don't want the drama of their badgering or feel it will bring unnecessary negativity about you i will understand. Please just let me know in a private message and i will draw again. I am hoping there is at least one person who knows this is not right and will do their part and help to make this a friendly site for all, not a Judge and Jury Panel. The first name drawed is BlakBart. Buddy, the decision is yours. Do you want the grief associated with it or do you want me to draw again? Respectfully, Mogi On a side note - I would love to continue doing this. I see it as a kind gesture and the Negatives can not stand it because they are not apart. I have one request from all of you. Go back to my first post. It is back maybe even 15 pages at the back of a thread called - Dovetail Sells For $$$$, or something like that.Read all of my posts from there forward. Look at the artifacts and the comments i made on origin, type, providence, etc. only to be called a liar. THAT IS THE REASON I STOPPED. I post because there are people who message me and love my posts. I would love to meet new people and go hunting. I have hunting access in 6 states and a beautiful collection. You either believe me or not. I am the ONLY person on here that has provided C.O.A.'s. And yet they talk about buying, selling, trading, gifting and Knapping all the time. I have never Knapped a single artifact. When you get insuranse on very high dollar items, you will have to have proof - And they will not believe you even if you have been at artifact shows before. You will have to show C.O.A.'s, they will talk to collectors,etc.. I have collectors contact me to try and purchase items and i have never even heard their name. Why would i be offered thousands for my items by many different collectors if they were not authenticate. I sincerly hope you guys will take me at my word and we can make a difference on this forum for the good. Blak Bart - Let me know by today,or another name will be drawed. Respectfully, Mogi

Im all in mogi !!! I for one think it is an amazingly kind gesture and appreciate it very much. I will pm you with my info. I also enjoy reading all the threads on this forum both good bad and indifferent. I will be first to say that im no expert by any means, but would be happy to add it to my collectionof 3 other pieces. I would like to thank everyone for the info that has been posted. I have learned a lot through this forum. I also like the idea of allowing others to enjoy it by passing it along. I will play it by ear and see how this all pans out. Thank you so much mogi!!! You know me, just munching popcorn and reading the back and forth. Ive always tried to keep an open mind and treat everyone with respect. The honor is all mine, thank you again mogi. Im working right now so I will pm you this afternoon.
