Questions to the mods.

Just what is considered political, religious, or banned, locked, discouraged on tresure net.. I have seen all of these things on active posts and have been locked out warned on things I have posted. I am not trying to break rules, guess I just don't understand them. I am mainly asking the moderators, but it seems to me all these banned subjects continue to pop up and some are allowed to share their opinion while others are not.

Unfortunately, we've all had questions about that. What is and isn't political, religious or otherwise verbotten is flexible. Mods sometimes bend over backwards to be fair to us, but sometimes it seems the opposite.

Whenever you deal with human beings making decisions it is always subjective. Depends on you and the mod. There are rules: No Politics. No Religion. Be nice. Be as politically correct as you can. (the last one I made up )

If you wanna talk politics, you can pay $20 and become a charter member. Otherwise, bite your tongue.

Politics are only allowed in Politics Forum located under Charter Membership so guests and new members dont stumble in without knowing what they are in.

Evidently some members forget the Rubber Room where politics was discussed before was in Charter Members forum before it was locked and deleted by Marc the founder and original owner of TN.

If members wish to discuss politics it will be located there. Once a thread crosses a line and becomes political if the original poster of the thread is a CM that thread will be moved to Politics forum, if they are not CM thread is locked and deleted....

As per rules every member agrees to by posting here....

This is a treasure forum and politics out of the picture makes it an enjoyable place to read and learn about what this site is mainly for....learning, finding and hunting treasure. Politics inevidly will always ruin a good conversation. There are plenty of other places to talk politics. The minute I run into politics here, I'm gone, and I just got here. Has nothing to do with wanting to discuss the direction of the country, good or bad, There are plenty of places I go to be informed and express my opinion. Its just not here on TN I would expect to discuss those issues. It never ends well.

I do suggest you watch the implied insults, I served my country 1967-1971 USAF and I continue to serve her.

If you want to discuss politics on TN it is a benefit of Charter Membership just like if you want to sell here you have to be a CM to do so.

Fact is there are 6 Mods here, Administration, and a very large amount of members.

All have the ability to read & personally Judge what isn't & what is Politics, or Religion
and what is allowable. many times what one of us think is OK
may not be to a majority of those who read it.
& Visa-versa .

I am pretty sure though, Nobody has been banned simply for posting a Religious or Political post(s).
Warned, yes. had their posts deleted, yes.
But Banned ? I doubt it.

at least not without additional extenuating circumstances giving us no other choice

some of it should be obvious,(Porn, attacks, personal information that is not your own) but for the rest,
what I try to go by is, If it isn't Treasure Related
it is open to interpretation.

& No fear nobody is Perfect. In fact one of my recent Threads was deleted by Me, as Political
after some of the responses got reported as Political.

Jeff is correct no one has been banned for posting politics that I am aware of, a couple got "timeouts" for continuing to post politics after repeated warnings and some earned extended timeouts for personal attacks on TN and mods who were enforcing TN rules by deleting posts or threads that were political in nature from other forums.

There was a time when nothing political was allowed at all. Admins were kind enough to allow it to return under CM and it has worked out well there.

There are 34 registered members in political forum...Your required to read rules specific to the politics forum and post your name acknowledging you read and agree to them prior to posting..

I am not terribly interested in discussing politics or religion, but treasure, politics, and religion go hand in hand. And what has happened on others watch have directly affected our ability to do or say the things that need saying. If we gold seekers and treasure hunters are going to be free to enjoy our hobbies, then we need to stand for what is right. We are in a bad place already with lands being banned, and rights stripped. Sorry for the implications, and thank you for your service, and your patient comments. Like I said I am trying to figure out the rules. You both have explained them well. An now I understand why some things slip by while others don't.

well if the Land in the Discussion is or was open to treasure Hunting & Is being Threatened by politics,
By all means, it is allowed.

However if discussing land that is along a boarder other place where it is simply the politicians involved,
paranoia over illegal aliens or whatever that are being the reason for the discussion, it's politics.

as for religion, it is harder to explain. other then to say No quoting Bible Verses or
location in a bible to find and read a particular verse, in order to preach in any way.

trying for loop holes is my biggest pet peeve of all, & many times if I see it as an attempt to
get around what i said, I do retaliate .

if someone legitimately believes the bible is a history, & is legitimately looking for something like
an ark, I would look the other way & Ignore any quotes that are supposed clues, but again not
quotes that preach or Judge.

and again, attempts to find Loopholes in what I just said may cause retaliation

Do you all only mean reference to the bible or Koran, or any other religious book. I am truthfully trying to not have any more posts deleted, and being able to not say some thing that is banned is hard some times when it has to deal with treasure.

I used to be a member of many forums. This is my only forum I visit daily. I found the $20.00 dollar membership to help support the site well worth it. I do not have any threads that fall into politics and religion. But if I want to state my mind I now have that opportunity. Being banned for statements from a forum(TFMD) leaves a bad taste and only hurts the forum in general. Tnet has recognized and supported all its members. A good example is CHR or what ever. I dont care to see CHR post. I can stop from seeing CHR post in the tools section. Try that on other forums. Everyone is different. But if you have to play in the politics, pay the $20.00 bucks as those folks are very sincere about what they post and enjoy the others who contribute.

Because things are not Black & White, and as long as you don't get Rude, I don't think anyone will ban you. especially over a Mistake in judgement.

all I can say is my personal thoughts on Why I would say the Christian Religion
"seems" to be picked on the most, is because of the fact it seems to be the one used the most for Judgement purposes & causes the most debate.
Where religions like Witchcaft, Voodoo etc. are there but nobody
is Crying over what someone may say about them Or looking for reasons to judge people who don't believe in them.

Oh yea there a lot of good people on here as well, too many to list, bet some like to add too much trash when they know nothing about the subject. The reason I don't share everything is because parts of the legends are religious and political, for instance Druid gold was not about religion but markers on rocks that resemble Druid writing that pre date Anglo American exploration into America. And this gets into politics because some like to debate their education as fact and not theory. People can attack and slander me all they want, my skin is thick and I have learned to sift wheat, but I don't think it's right to allow some comments and not others. I really would love good explanation of what I have seen, and thought this was a good place to share.

But start arguing theology & your in the wrong place.

but again Nothing is Black & White.

If the politics or religion is directly related to treasure hunting it is allowed as long as it is not a bashing secession...

Many times i agree with what is posted, but it violates our rules and has to be deleted.
