I don't think its the cell towers here. Interferences may be from the 3 satellite dishes a quarter mile from me.
I also lose my free TV signals when the wind blows. My antenna is inside.
All the signals seem to blow away in the wind, alot of hot air in this area, not the good kind!

Yeah, but you gotta swim to get across WI lakes. In Florida you can just stroll across without getting your knees wet.

I suppose our Lake Winibago is comparable to your Lake Okeechobee in that they are both large, shallow inland lakes. Okeechobee has the biggest large mouth bass of the two lakes with the peacock bass present but void of Winnebago's smallmouth bass. Winnebago has the potential for much larger fish, 50lb+ catfish and 100lb sturgeon. The thing about Winnebago though is the d@mn thing freezes over in winter.

Then we got the Michigan on the east side of WI. Salmon, trout , walleye, perch, and the occasional burbot. But you got the Gulf and the Atlantic with all the ocean fish. But then again it gets terrible hot in the FL summer sun.

OK, OK, Ok, but where's your fish pics? They would look good on bart's fish pic thread.

Good job on the catch Rook, and congratulations on the suscessful release. Maybe soon they will be established on that lake and there will be a season to harvest them.

You're not the only one. To date, over the past five years, I have watched Gettysburg 27 times, and a few other movies about ten times each. I know a bunch of the lines in Gettysburg by heart now.

LOL! Yeah I know the lines, too! All the LOTR & Hobbits, Harry Potters, Master and Commander, A Knight's Tale, Last of the Mohicans, Shrek, and so many more. Drives MR WD nuts! HA HA!

What other people besides the Seminoles & Spanish do you think were in Fla. way back when?

South Florida had the Calusa, Tequesta, Jeaga, and the Ais
Central Florida had the Timucua with sub tribes like the Ocali
North Florida had the Miccouskee and Apalachee
West Panhandle the Creek and Choctaw
Several of these tribes built burial mounds, which still exists, AND are illegal to disturb.

The Spanish called all these tribes "cimmarrones" (free People), which became the name Seminole.
The several of the above tribes merged into one, along with escaped slaves to form the Seminole tribe, and resisted the United States government attempts of relocation, causing decades of three Seminole Wars, which the Seminoles won, creating the SEMINOLE NATION in the Everglades, which is NOT a part of nor subject to the laws of the United States.
Many Florida cities began as forts and retain the Ft in their name,(Miami was Fort Dallas) and many that were were used by the Confederacy, while the Union held the coastal forts, like FORT MEYERS.

I used to live in the glades about half way.
The nearest people to us was a Seminole village, i used to go play there with the kids.
