Still stormin like crazy here. Not sure how many inches we got but 2 inches had to come down since sunrise. Very dark and stormy. I think thats a rum drink "dark and stormy" ginger beer and myers dark rum. Mmmmmm!! That makes me want to add some rum to my coffee. Morning guys !!

i found i can still detect this summer i go late in the evening before the sun goes down its a whole lot cooler to swing the coil i did yesterday and found only two things a spoon handle and a brass whazit

There was a retired fellow in Arizona near the Mexican border who detected at the crack of dawn for the same reason to avoid the daytime heat.

i thought about that but the wet grass gets my coil all wet and dirty and i thinks it messes with the detector some

If only they would let me swing my coil at this location. The house was built in 1810 it's the oldest standing house between Louisville, Kentucky and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They let kids from school do archaeological digs there and whatever they find goes to the museum. I have a feeling they're not finding the good stuff.

After the hurricane I found one of those bright orange mesh saftey vests. It was from the electric company and probably blew off one of there trucks. I put it on and went anywhere I wanted. I metal detected all the closed beaches and never was bothered by anyone. Guess I looked pretty official. Worked great !!

About to walk all my equipment down to this other old house and find some relics. Might spend a few hours checking under the house and a few more metal detecting the yard.

Whoaaa.......its blowing now !! Steady 30 with tropical storm force gusts. Its blowin but im goin !! Im gonna drive down key and check out some spots. This storm turned out to be real, and will leave a mark !! Dont know if ill be able to swing but im gonna go and try. Ill hunt for any storm downed trees too !! Some of the leaners from the hurricane had to go down last night !! Got to be some erosion/flooding. Pretty good blow. What are they calling this one ?? I think alberto ??

Hope you folks stay safe down there. I remember on one of our vacations to Ft Meyers staying with my wife's aunt & uncle in a mobile trailer.

We got hit by the tail end of a tropical storm and the wind was howling pretty good....my wife pokes me in the ribs and says how can you sleep through this?

I said well I was until you woke me up....lol.
