Just before Coinjock, your going under the bridge for Route 158.Been there many times on route to Kitty Hawk.Also just north of coinjock (on Rt. 158) is a seafood market called Frog island fish market.They have the best prices & selection .Case you get hungry !

the day before I went from station22 to station 12. I found a small gold charm and chain on the popular beach, but my intention was to try and find civil war era stuff. I ended up right under the walls of fort moultrie. Now here is where the story gets good. Have you guys ever detected a southern bell? As I was digging a target I was startled by a tap on the shoulder !! To my surprise it was a very beautiful woman !!! Guys.......I have never been so doggedly pursued by a girl in my life !! At this point detecting is over. So after an hour of talking on the beach, and several hints that iwas happily married I just told her straight away that I am married, just to make it crystal clear. She was 36, mother of 2 young children, owner of a very successful resturant, and 7th generation sullivan islander. That was recently divorced. She insisted on taking me to dinner at her resturant. So after a great meal and cocktails I politely excused myself......I could sense that she was waiting for the invite back to the yacht. At this point the little devil on my shoulder is having it out with the angel on the other shoulder.......in the end the angel won out, but temptation would have overcome a person with less willpower !! 10 years ago I would have thrown some engine parts in the sea just to stay for a few days. I was flattered that a younger woman was flirting with me and my ego is still pumped up !! And yes I did tell my wife about it !! She gets a kick out of it and trusts me on these journeys. Guys if your young and single you should consider a yacht job !! Good pay, travel the world, and meet woman in every forigen port. So now that im married , I stay out of the bars, save my money, and metal detect or fish in my spare time !!

check out this anchor flask, absolutely perfect. Took a chance and reached through a hole in the bricks in the crawl space under the house. There were many years of bottles in there. I pulled out many bottles but this one was the gem quality one. I left the rest on the porch for the owner as he collects bottles as well !! Ive been hitting this property for years when I pass through. It always gives me something !! Got a nice clay marble too.

Ill take another pic to show the anchor on the flask, I think these date to around the time of the civil war !! Not sure though until I study some more. This one really made my trip so far. Wish I could have had at least a few more hours there. Only have a few hours each day so I really have to have a good game plan each day !!

About 20 years ago we looked into buying a bed & breakfast on Tangier Island in the Chesapeake . But the boss/wife chicken out

yea i plan to were some Don't tread on me t-shirts and hats and some other stuff yup i'm that guy that likes to make people mad when i wear those shirts

My "town hat". Thought I'd get some flack about wearing this up here, but quite the opposite. Seems most folks up here feel like rebels, so they like it. Go figure!

Eh, it's not so bad really. Just can't do the "video" thing. ....And gotta stay away from larger photos/images, maps, mp3's and such. Heck, better lay off the chocolate just in case!
