Folks,

Time for another of my foolish stories and since there has been some posts about NYC thought the timing was right.

Our sales rep covering NYC convinced me to go to the annual traffic club dinner in Manhattan. Well if any of you know the Shakespeare play called MacBeth, there was a scene where MacDuff brought back MacBeths head to the king for being disloyal.

Well that happens to be my family name(the spelling is a bit different though), well when Dave took me around to meet everyone we exchanged business cards with various people and one of them was a lady with a last name of MacBeth.

I told her she was safe since I left my sword back in Canada.....lol.

Btw Oddjob,

I know more and more people who get´s attracted to live on the land or in the woods or on an island!
I can imagine why this happen.... seems "replacement migration" works !! :laughing7:

I bet, sso when you leaving Germany.

What was that like 2015, around that, the highest recorded number of Germans to leave Germany.

I used to work rather close with Police and Agency in Europe. From the German side I have about 30 close mates, 21 which are retired now. Half of them moved to the States, the others went to Namibia and South Africa, well I think one left for war to get some peace and mind.

Luxembourg only had five mates there, 3 retired now, all three state side.

Spain just a few, all in South Texas now.

Italy, about 45 mates, 9 retired and everyone still living in Italy.

Me, heck medically retired US Army at 18 years. Then Interpol and retired with 50% pay after 15 years, in the last months my wife and I could not really come up with a plan we could agree on, I wanted Aussie bush for the shooting and some good coastal fishing. She said I could never set my guns down. Ended up doing a mate a favour and taking a really crap job out of DC, and now it is getting close that I have spent more time in Europe and North Africa working out of DC than I have working in DC.

I do not see this lasting; at least with Interpol I had plenty of time to race, plenty of time for my garden, plenty of time yak fishing in the Adriatic, always got a good hunt in with plenty of meat from a few countries, plenty of time to prospect and MD. Working there was like all or none, either you are rolling hard to hurry up and get it done or you where doing nothing.

This is just tarded though, a favour is like hey mate come help me move, help me cut some firewood, worse case hey mate ambushed on Yankee Junction come out and play. This is more like, hey mate you want to sleep with my big fat stinky great aunt.

Going to bounce soon my self.

Hold down the fort.

Just had an epic 1 hour beach glass and bottle hunt at my new york glass dump spot !! Got 10 pounds of beach glass, 2 keeper bottles, and some mystery items metal detecting. Went from 7:51 to 8:54. Half mile walk to and from the spot. And I missed low tide, and had to hunt high tide. No telling how it would have went at low tide. Just ate dinner. Now I got to sort this stuff out. Wow, almost lost my pants on the way back because my pockets were so full.

Tom,

Are you holding out on us....where's this secret Island you want to sneak off to it sure beats a bunker....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Besides I get claustrophobic is closed in spaces so one of those bunkers wouldn't work for me.

Interesting!

But I wouldn´t spent just one single Cent in a "dooms Day Bunker" ....

WD,

If you're talking about FB well like you I have mixed feelings. I'm on there primarily because of the Canadian forum and rarely post much and nothing to personal.

Just to give you an insight on how intrusive those kind of sites can be I was talking to one of our members who has a channel on youtube and post videos. I had mentioned that odds are since Nugget Noggin is a good looking young guy probably about half his subscribers are women. Well according to our member youtube breaks down subscribers in different ways for you including male/female ratios.

Her channel on detecting is 8% female and 92% male which is probably pretty close to the ratio of detectorists gender wise; since I would have guessed about 10% women. So even though a lot of people don't necessarily put their gender down when creating an account, it's pretty obvious they construct a profile on you based on internet activity. Food for thought.

Oh, I didn't hide my gender. I made everything else as private as I could. Apparently that ain't much. My husbands Aunt shared my pic. I'm getting friend requests from my step-mother-in-laws friends, etc. Best thing I've seen on there is a giant sized pack of Twizzlers. Now that's a treasure!! Yum!

I met a friend today and the subject came up and she said," You're going to hate it." I told her I already do. And she knows I've been doing a couple forum sites.

To me it's like putting down the answer to a math problem without showing your work. Drives me nuts.

Oh well, at least I'll get to see pics of my grandkids that only live 15 minutes away, but I hardly ever get to see them. :sadsmiley:

Oh.... You poor thing.

Tell you what, since it was not your idea and more theirs then just play it like any entertainer would. Let someone else deal with it for you, why should you manage some crap like that when the idea of more exposure and no persec was not yours in the first place.

Yeah, I made my daughter do a lot of the work. Shoot, they should do it all.

Folks,
Here's a chuckle for you....lol.

The Arrogance of Authority

picture

The DEA officer stopped at a ranch in Texas, and talked with

an old rancher. He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your
ranch for illegally grown drugs."

The rancher said, "Okay, but don't go in that field over
there.....", as he pointed out a distant location.

The DEA officer verbally exploded, saying, " Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me!"
Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher.
"See this badge?! This badge means I am allowed to go
wherever I f*****g wish.... on ANY land!! No questions asked or answers given!! Have I made myself

clear...... do you understand???"

The rancher nodded politely, apologized, and went about his chores.

A short time later, the old rancher heard loud screams, looked up and saw the DEA officer running for his life,

being chased by the rancher's enormous Santa Gertrudis bull......

picture

With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it seemed likely that the officer would be

gruesomely gored before he reached safety. The man was clearly terrified.

The rancher threw down his tools, ran to the fence and yelled at the top of his lungs.....

(I just love this part....)

"Your badge........ show him your F*****g BADGE!!"

That's hilarious! :sign10:

Good morning AARC.........what you up to this morn.

Drinking coffee... smoking a cigarette... and petting the dogs. :)

And you ?

And watching the sun rise.

Making coffee, firing up the generator, untying the spring lines and getting ready to push up the hudson river to kingston new york.

Waiting for everyone else to get up !!

You and I are alike... seems like I am always waiting on someone.

People rarely wait for me... for I am usually the "ready" one.
