ITs ARC ... foo.

...but AARC has really good deals on "GENUINE PIRATE JOSE GASPAR CANNON BALLS"-
SPECIAL for our neighbors in the North:
$49.95 for one.
BUT WAIT- any two for $79.95 and AARC throw in "real" copy he made of a Black Caesar treasure map of Captiva Island that has never been found!
But that's not all ! To the first 50 responders, each will received an AARC certified escudo made of lead from a mould of the original once held by Calico Jack Rackham and given to Anne Bonney.

EECS should know... he buys a set of balls every week ... :P

ITs ARC ... foo.

I Know, but "AARC" is the alias you are wont to employ on the TN threads as a disguise. :icon_thumleft:

Now about that wholesale price offer on those genuine "cannon balls"...

***YAWN***

Morning.

Oh hell, these pictures are so small on here. No kidding i thought that was like an album cover, noshit. Always leaned towards something like Beasti Boys, not them, know darn well but that sort.

Is there actually a way to see these bigger on here.

Think I liked it more when I was trying to figure out what album it was from.

No worries, had more than one on here ask me if that was me in my picture. Sometimes in PMs but a couple times on a thread in passing conversation. Folks been calling me OddJob since the early 90s back in my Army days; got about 40 people on here I have worked with for many years, so when they saw that they where really giving me crap then.

One more thing mate; you do not have to find monetary value to find treasure. Finding a point of interest in relation to history is just as significant to some but often more significant to historians. I mean really, what is treasure, some gold that a private fella or company finds that they should be able to keep 1000% of; no its not, but I am far from a poor man. That is just verification of very hard rewarding work, but the start, middle and completion of a great deal more answers and questions. You found an area of interest, thats the treasure.

I have only ever been interested in two treasures, ever in my life. Neither I did not even come across until about 23 years after I completed my studies; hell I joined the Army, you have any idea how many people are interested in Ottoman history or more so military economics and battlefield trade. 7 people counting my self, I know because we all meet up once a year for a few days and discuss our finding, what we may pursue next in research and who needs help with what. Yeah in another 100 years no one will care. So it was the Army for me. Got very lucky one day and found a book. I have an amazing collection and knew what this book was, and could read every language in it. Sat on that for five years and had it verified by a few places, got some killer offers on it, presented it to my group and told them my intentions.

My intentions where not to find any treasure, hell I knew no such existed. It was to find each place they stopped. To provide modern mapping on a multi national march and trade route. It was lost to the world, now it is an area or path of interest as you put it. All 7 of us are happy about it too. LOL

Just saying mate, it is used very loose on here, not speaking ill towards you so I hope you did not take it that way.

But I am itching to know if you have any plans for your area of interest.

No plans... without legal permit to explore... or hooking up with an entity that can get one... it will have to rot.

It is against the law here to do so without expressed permission to dig / disturb.

And there is no rum in jail... SO... that counts me out. :)

I will continue my CURRENT life as an "armchair treasure hunter"... right here... with you guys :)

I do metal detect beaches though from time to time.

Btw... JFYI...

I did have plans to at least attempt to obtain some sort of leases / permits to explore these areas many moons ago... prior to joining Tnet...

Over time I hoped that I would run into someone here that had the "pull" OR could join up with an entity that had permits already... but thus far nothing.

Also I little of my bio...

I had 2 close relatives who were my inspiration of all this at an early age...

By 2 I was already a fish in water...
By 6 I was diving.
By 12 I received my first P.A.D.I. certs and also got offered the Atocha search job for 5 an hour when I returned at 16 with additional certs.
by 14 2 more P.A.D.I. off book private taught certs.
bt 15 AWD private cert... and diving hull biz started in summers which led me to all types of other water related ventures.
by 16... dropped out of school... flew to California and got my G.E.D. flew back and resumed... metal detecting becomes serious... research became serious and collection of such became a passion.

Now in my late 40's.

AARC,

Since you're being the armchair treasure hunter here's a little bobble from several years ago.

A key chain or fob from Pratt Whitney it's quite heavy but a bit on the soft side so I suspect pewter and not silver, still kind of neat.

Regards + HH

Bill

Folks,

Most detectorist have Spanish coins or relics high up on their want list well detecting along the Lachine canal a few years ago this came up as a bit of a surprise.

Unfortunately it's a caste modern knock off for the tourist trade but it did have me going for awhile and I actually found a 2nd one in the general area that same season....lol.
